I must say I'm quite pleasantly surprised to see Waves do something besides EQs and Compressors for a change. Now if they can get a little into the creative (way out there) FX area occupied by Übermod, Permut8, the various glitch and extreme filter stuff from mostly smaller companies, I won't complain.

As to the installation: yes, it seems a little convoluted at first, but once you have an account and at least one plug-in installed, you just launch the WOLI_9 application, check the stuff you'd like installed and yer good to go.

Especially considering all those awesome freebie VAs that are available such as TyrellN6, Podolski, Zebralette, TAL NoiseMaker, z3ta+, Synth1 etc.

And they read your mind and came up with one quick. But all they could do in so short time was a simple VA. Probably used Synthedit. :hihi:
:hihi:

Haven't tried it yet, looks cool though.

Why bother going to the trouble of making a synth plugin, and then not bother doing anything remotely new? It's almost specced like a freebie, and the demos don't really sound that exciting to me.

I can't even watch a video that does nothing but buffer and buffer.

Baahhh! :hihi:

Installation is very simple once you have an account and know the process.

I think the same thing.. that was more to get people to register accounts and inform them of other waves products..

However, in my case, it backfired as I discovered the waveshell method they use to load VSTs does not function with my host (orion).

So it is no Waves plugins for me. Not for $99, $9, or free. Can't use them.

About this synth.. it has a stuffy, almost nasal sound to it.. reminds me of older VAZ or that dos AXS synth. Not something I'd consider bad, but not good either..

Everytime someone uses those pseudo 3D/perspective knobs/faders/whatever Cthulhu kills a kitten.
He may even kill two kittens and a dog when everything else on the GUI is flat like in this case.

I think this synth may be nice for someone who doesn't have a lot of synths already. 99$ is a nice price and it seems to have most basics covered, sadly not much beyond that.

Edit: I haven't checked audio demos yet, so I have no idea how it sounds.

Has a good polished sound, remembers me a bit to Imageline stuff. Presets are good, giving a good idea about this synth. Installation and activation was very easy.
The big question is of course, is it different enough to other VAs.

But that's like cheating. :hihi:

Looks alright, but i'm more interested in Spire tbh.
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

And from the promo mail I got a moment a go I see that this will be 200$ synth after the initial 99$ introductory offer.

I wish Soundtoys also released a VA. They have the best filters, the best delays.. what else do you need for an excellent synth!
