What can you guys say about Tannoy Reveal 601A B-Stock also WHARFEDALE PRO STUDIO 8.2?

Tannoys are good. But before that...

You don't have room on your desk? Are you planning on using stands?

Yes, stands behind the desk. I've putted on my wishlist this things:
PAD: http://www.thomann.de/ro/the_takustik_isopad.htm
Stands: http://www.thomann.de/ro/millenium_bs500_set.htm
Cable: http://www.thomann.de/ro/cordial_cfm_3_ ... _kabel.htm

LE: I've seen a nice promotion at Thomann, KRK RP6 RoKit G2 Stand Bundle, which includes the stands above that I was looking to buy and 2 KRK RP6 RoKit G2. I've heard that RP6 and RP8 are good, but not RP5, is it true?

Then why not? I don't like RP5s. Not sure about the bigger Rokits though.

Anyway the money I will have them all in 2-3 months but I think I could do some things to get the monitors earlier if needed, but I'm thinking if I should wait for PreSonus monitors. They look interesting for sure but they are only 5". There are some 8" too but I don't have that much money.

Now I am oscilating between KRK RP6, Tannoy Reveal 601A B-Stock and PreSonus Eris E5. But there is an intresting spec, KRK have 49Hz-20kHz freq response, Tannoy 60Hz-30kHz, PreSonus 53 Hz - 22 kHz. KRK seems to handle lower freq better.

What would you guys choose?

Tbh for that kinda money i'd go b-stock, maybe ebay look for a studio clear out or someone who's upgrading. I saw some Tannoy 6Ds a couple of days ago for £350.

Here: http://www.thomann.de/gb/m_audio_studio ... tock_2.htm If you can buy 2 very good neutral monitors, i've heard them in the shop and they were about £900 p.p then, they've come down a bit recently though.

Those are back ported and since I don't have a treated room it can only create problems from what I've understanded. Some guys here said I should go with front port or with a 2.1 system. Since I don't have the money for a 2.1 system I am thinking on front ported monitors.

Might want to research these and get an amp to go with them , I have heard a lot of buzz about these years ago and won't kill your small room setup , I have a small room too so dont sweat it . Google - Avantone Mixcubes Passive Studio Monitors

I've been thinking that Dynaudio - BM15A Active Studio Monitors would be an awesome set to work with.

They aren't cheap, but they have to be fairly good to be relied on by this studio.

Check their equipment list, the speakers are listed there.

What ever you do get or decide on , its gonna be a good idea to have some headphones you like , ipod earbuds , and maybe a small boom box to have handy to audition your mixes on .

Anyway, I will keep you guys posted with my decision, when I will have one and with some impressions when I will get the monitors. What I can say is that I want to thank you all for your time and you helped me in narrowing my decision to those 3 in this order:

1. PreSonus Eris E5 - Great freq response, a lot of tweaks for suiting your room, front ported, great build and let's not forget PreSonus is doing a great job with their gear.

2. KRK Rokit RP6 - Good bass response, some tweaks when needed for untreated rooms, front ported, good quality and I hope when I will decide, the promotion to still be there.

3. Tannoy Reveal 601A - It's the last because it doesn't that great response in the lower end where I need it the most for my genre, but they have great highs, it also has some tweaks to suit your room.

Thank you guys!

Yeah if you can't have the speakers more than 1ft from the wall probably best to avoid but that's where the room controls come into effect, most have 2db/4db cuts to compensate for room boundaries. The dsm1 are much better monitors than rokits imho (had the sixes) which is why i posted them; 42hz would give you more low end than most monitors in that price range negating the need for a sub which could be a problem in your room if you don't have a lot of space for placement etc, you have the dsp for room adjustment as well.

So you had Rokit RP6 and DSM1 too? You like more DSM1? Just to clear things out.

LE: I think I will keep a look on DSM1.

I had RP6s, ok but there are better imho. I auditioned the DSM1s when monitor shopping, they're a step up from a typical budget monitor, when you get to around £500 you get into more serious monitor quality, built with better components and more r&d etc but they will generally be more honest and not mask frequencies or boost the lows and highs. Finding a good monitor that you can trust and like is no mean feat without hearing them, the dsm1's aren't perfect but i'd take those over the rokits any day, i'm not sure i'd pay £900 though!

I'm coming from hs80s to focal cms50s, smaller but they have a better response and i would take them over the yams even though they go down to 42hz. But yeah when it comes to judging reverb tails and eqing get the most accurate monitor you can afford, don't buy blind if you can help cause specs don't really tell you how good they are and the monitor is the most important component in your signal chain, after your ears!

Again just my 2c fwiw, it's up to you at the end of the day. :)

The price is more than low for those and I am seriously thinking on buying them but from what I've understant those are used. I would want to see some photos so I can tell how used are they, but there are none on the website. It's kind of risky to buy something that's used without seeing it.

At the same time PreSonus Eris E5 is winking me a lot and I'm tempted to wait for them. Right now I don't know what to do but from what you said I won't buy KRK RP6 if DSM1 is still at the same price. Anyway on my top list is still PreSonus, but if I will get some pictures from Thomann about those DSM1 and they are looking and working fine I think I will get those.

Did you order them?
