It's again that time of the year when a vendor "accidentally" leaks some info and speculation threads blossom. Is it really for accident?
According to Google it also seems that something showed up on fullcompass and a thread on Cakewalk Forum was started on it. Now of course no trace of the thread and Full Compass Cakewalk product list no longer includes SONAR X3... it was advertised as available in 3/4 weeks - just Google quickly for "sonar x3 leak"
The plot thickens

lolz. No, and quite honestly I don't care. My point was that that is about a week after it's release so that is when I expect to see it approx.budweiser wrote:Hope you don't expect for a grace period...hibidy wrote:I bought x2 on 9/29/12.

I expect forum melt down 3 days after release.

I don't even know what I'm interested in Sonar X3. But I am, in a perverse way. As if it will fix my laundry list of complaints. I guess you feel a special way about your first DAW.

Is it just me, or is the prominence of the word "professional" in audio product marketing inversely proportional to the sophistication of the target audience?twoifbysea wrote:http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audi ... er-edition
Here's the Producer version.

Well, I was one of those noobs, so I can hardly judge them. Rather, "professionals", i.e. people who are successful enough to make a living by using the software, already have "professional" software because any software they use for their work is, by definition, professional. Professionals don't strive to be professional, they already are. So the word "professional" is tantalizing only to those who are outside the profession wistfully looking in.

The use of the word "Professional" in this case is simply to help differentiate between the three flavors of Sonar by providing a short description on the box:
Essential - Powerful tools for the home studio
Studio - Advanced music creation software
Producer - Professional recording, mixing, and mastering
I don't see the problem.
