It seems that the $1/bank is a charge applied if your total purchase at the current price )50% off) is less than the $ credit in your account about which I received an email. The remaining credit is reduced by the discounted price of the purchase, plus you pay $1. At least that seems to be how it is working for me. What is not clear is the 30% discount mentioned in the email. The website offers 50% off, and the coupon for me did nothing to change that. Is this how it is supposed to work?

A good deal in any case, but just trying to clarify the process…...

This has got to be a typo right? Even for the 3rd party soundbanks from providers such as Rob Lee and Aiyn Zahev?
No there's no typo. But the credit was not for all existing users. It has a formula based on the coupons used (or not used) by the user in past transactions. you know being a IT guy in the past helps in those SQL calculations :D

I can't say much as there are several conversations going on right now, but all I can say is that these savings are being passed on to the content creators, ie they are being paid next to nothing for a lot of 'sales' just before Christmas.

This does not bode well for future content for the plugin, as tempers are frayed right now.

There are other guys, for example "classic" who sells his Synthmaster preset bank on his own homepage (http://www.art-renaissance-project.com/ ... html#Other instruments), so there are alternatives if you're not happy with the official Synthmaster preset sales...

Furthermore, during a sale poorer people are buying preset banks that they couldn't afford for the normal price, so there is MORE income, not less.

Poorer people can't buy a computer, host and the synth in the first place. The banks are only $10-15.

I don't have any banks up with KV331, but I had 3 lots of 100 preset banks pencilled in for 2014. If you knew how little the sound designers are getting paid for these sales (it is next to nothing) then you'd understand why your argument fails. You'd also understand why I'll probably cancel my planned Synthmaster banks now as these vouchers are valid for more than a year, multiple uses (the content providers I have spoken to don't actually know how the vouchers work as no consultation was made).

As Bülent said, the vouchers can be used only once, not multiple times.

Actually, the Synthmaster preset banks usually cost between $16 and $26, and there are only 50 presets, so normally I create my presets myself and only buy one of them in case of a sale.

I know that you cannot get rich with making preset banks, unless you were someone like Tim Conrardy, that's why I still haven't published any preset banks.

But if you don't like Synthmaster preset bank sales, you can offer your sound banks on your homepage and hope that people find and buy them...

Not being greedy! But I haven't received any credit.
Does it include Academic licenses as well? or are there other criteria in excluding some existing users?

Well, I didn't see the 50 new factory presets in the browser, but didn't know how they would show in the browser. I assume by the title they are just added under the same Factory Presets folder? I'll have to check tomorrow.

50% was already off the prices when I got there, added the 30% code from the email, which doesn't show up until you hit the pay button (but you still have to go through another step or two before you actually do buy, so you can see your price there.)

A couple of things though, I downloaded the update and the installer just in case. The update seemed to go smoothly on its own but the synth wouldn't load and came up with an error box. After using the full installer, everything works fine, except for the last bank I just bought (Insignia - the double discounts made it a no brainer). But certain sounds are crashing the synth or just not playing until I re-boot the synth.

BTW, the classic-renaissance sounds are good and it's good to see a developer adding sample/waves to this synth. IMO, this is where it shines but it is a good solid synth all-way-round. I'm hoping to see Nori do some more ethnic sampling for this. It's not just an EDM machine.

Where is everyone getting this 30% off coupon? I saw the 50% off deal, but when I went to buy the "Factory" version using PayPal, another $.50 was actually added to the purchase price--and the "November" offer didn't do anything, although I think it was supposed to take another 10% off. :-o

I don't know what's going on with their website, but if I can get an additional 30% off, I'd buy it--as long as PayPal doesn't add that 30% back!

Except for users of the demo or Computer Music versions I guess, right?

What has happened to Nori. Most of the patches others make are just not as satisfying for me.

Nori teach me thy craft you are the master preset designer of all time.

I honestly would pay to buy a book on how he reverse engineers patches.

As a guitarist I lust for new gear all the time. My favorite I am planning on getting is an Axe Fx and it has a tool for creating presets for sounds in songs with an analysis feature that listens to the real sounds in recorded works and makes a preset that sounds almost dead on to that sound.

What coolness that would be to have something that could do such a thing in the synth world and how much would you pay for that?

I dunno, Ive owned synthmaster and various expansions for a while and never got a 30% off email :(, checked the spam folder and everything

Same here. I bought Synthmaster and two banks during summer sale at 30% off. I guess,I'm not eligible for any further discount to the current 50% for all customers.

Nevertheless 50% off is fine too, time to buy some soundbanks
:)
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

and who are the 'registered users'? The ones bought the software and have an account in Synthmaster.com with their emails and serial numbers, right?
Or there are another kind of 'register users'?
I don't care for the presets, but just very curious to know why I (and others) were excluded from the discount. It just doesn't feel right.
