Thanks for all the good suggestions everyone. I'd like to tidy up MbiraGen before getting back to Boids (or Nova) but I'll keep the ideas in mind for the future.

No pressure, just wanted to give some feedbackToneCarver wrote:Thanks for all the good suggestions everyone. I'd like to tidy up MbiraGen before getting back to Boids (or Nova) but I'll keep the ideas in mind for the future.
I have some graphic glitches here with Mbira:

The numbers for Start and Len seem to have dropped down
After I save and reload this scene in Ableton Live (happens in other Hosts too) I get this screen:

Quite some stuff missing from the screen...
Cheers,
Tom

BTW: Nova3 still has the problem of non-sounding notes a lot. It seems worse when the GUI is not visible. But even with it up, I get a lot of visual collisions that don't trigger notes.
(Sorry for the cross-references to your other plugins. MbiraGen triggers some other things generatively
)
Thanks and cheers!

- Does the Velocity Jitter do anything? I tried with the Velocity Sequencer on and off but the midi monitor shows no effect of the Velocity Jitter. Would be cool if that would work on top of the Sequencer to make it less static.
- Not sure about Lenght-Jitter either - is it extremely subtle or not implemented yet?
I totally love this thing! Thank you so much!

Thanks for the props folks .. glad you are enjoying it ...
Thanks for the note on Nova missing notes too. Will keep that in mind when that gets some rework attention.
Ah, good catch. I just checked and the jitters are not doing anything in this version. I have been working on the next update and will include the jitters in the upcoming version.ThomasHelzle wrote:- Does the Velocity Jitter do anything? MbiraGen v1.0b is now up.
The zip file is here: MbiraGen_v1.0b
Changes in this version:
- added span control to select range of melody columns for sequencing
- added scales
- added melody sequencer direction control (fwd, bkwd, random, etc)
- fixed missing parameters after restore
- added missing length jitter
- added missing velocity jitter
- misc GUI adjustments
- added a few presets
Fixed several bugs and replaced the 'number of steps' knob with a sliding span control. See the blue triangles above the melody matrix. Drag the triangles to adjust the range of melodies included in the sequence. Drag the line between the triangles to slide the entire range to a different set of melody columns.
** Be careful about using this version in any existing projects. The save/restore format changed so any projects created with the previous version of the plugin will not load correctly using this version. Presets will load fine but saved projects will not.
Enjoy

Thanks for the update. Save/restore works fine now. I only noticed that presets I made with the previous version sound slightly different now. Did you change the degrees somehow?

Thanks for the detailed comparison. I don't recall if I made changes to the 'Triad 7th' or not but I did fix a bug in the scale generator that may have been causing wrong notesstudio4 wrote:For example: highlighted note now results in F (originally E)
As it turns out, another
For a quick work-around you can use the Sus 4th degrees in your existing projects - in the mean time I'll put out a new version with a corrected Sus 4th and a new Triad 6th which should produce the pattern you were expecting. Sorry for the hassles, new version should be ready soon.

Version 1.0c is now up: MbiraGen_v1.0c
Changes are:

@studio4: try the Triad 6th pattern instead of the Triad 7th, that should fix your incorrect note problem.
