That's why I passed on it as well too. I really wanted to like it... But taking a step back and then hoping people will pay for it is a bit strange in my opinion...
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

Hi, discoDSP, I just unpacked the linux archive, moved the Highlife vst3 folder to the linux .vst3 folder, fired up linux Reaper 678, loaded the newly scanned plugin, pressed the File button, loaded an embira sample from a DecentSampler lib, added linux ColorCopy and NI's Replika to be a po-boys backup band, and it's a

Is there any difference in the way Highlife samples plugins vs how Bliss Sampler samples plugins?discoDSP wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2014 7:52 pm Yes, VST hosting / sampling should be available on release 1.3. Thumbnail has been updated by the way, thanks for pointing up.

If I have Bliss Sampler, is there any reason to have Highlife as well? Does it do anything that Bliss Sampler can't do?

I want you to know that I still support you, because you use a simple serial file support on your Linux products. I hope that never changes.

Yes, there is a significant difference between the two. Bliss uses a much more sophisticated sampling engine. As of HighLife 2.0, the ability to sample virtual instruments has been disabled due to complexities arising from cross-platform code porting. However, to mitigate this, we've enabled SFZ export in the Bliss demo.audiojunkie wrote:Is there any difference in the way Highlife samples plugins vs how Bliss Sampler samples plugins?
While both Bliss and HighLife are robust in their capacities, there are some notable differences. HighLife, for instance, utilizes a distinct set of filters and is renowned for its simplicity and ease of use. So, even if you have Bliss, there's no harm in also using HighLife, they can complement each other quite well.If I have Bliss Sampler, is there any reason to have Highlife as well? Does it do anything that Bliss Sampler can't do?
We genuinely appreciate your continued support! Rest assured, we have no current plans to change our simple serial file support for our Linux products. We understand its importance to our users.I want you to know that I still support you, because you use a simple serial file support on your Linux products. I hope that never changes.

New video tutorial by SoundForMore:
1. Introduction: HighLife from discoDSP is a performance sampler with a built-in wave editor. It has five effects and flexible modulation routes. It uses 32-bit floating point for working with wave tables and allows for an unlimited number of zones.
2. Features: HighLife allows you to work with 128 programs, each of which can contain samples. It also has a filter section, an ADSR envelope, modulation LFO, and a modulation envelope. It also has the ability to morph between different states.
3. Effects: HighLife comes with four different effects: chorus, delay, reverb, and a special Daft sound effect. Each effect has its own set of parameters that can be adjusted to achieve the desired sound.
4. Editing: The software allows you to trim, reverse, rectify, apply distortion, fade in/out, normalize, and remove direct current from your samples. You can also set loops and add cues from sync.
5. Auto Drum Machine: When multiple files are loaded, HighLife can automatically spread them across the keyboard, allowing you to trigger different samples with different keys.
6. Morphing: HighLife allows you to morph between different states. This is done by adjusting the modulation wheel while playing a note.

Currently, the application does not support the functionality to record audio directly into it. We appreciate your interest and we're always open to user feedback.morelia wrote: Sun Jun 25, 2023 7:39 pm Just checking as I think I have the wrong idea. No way to record audio into this?
Yes, the good news is that we've heard our users' feedback and are implementing a feature to resize the Graphical User Interface (GUI) in a upcoming update. This will provide better accessibility and customization options to meet the diverse needs of our users. We appreciate your patience while we roll out this update.

Wow. Just downloaded and using the updated version 2.2
The resizeable GUI is really a game changer. You can actually see the screen to make it usable.
Great stuff!
