It's nice that they give you a little back. But the truth is, their retailers often offer even bigger discounts, so everyone wins.

Correction: Because they have great products for the price.

If they weren't selling these titles for as cheap as they do in the numerous dumps they've had, I probably wouldn't have bought them.
Unfortunately, certain problems have caused me to look for Kontakt equivalents, which have been more expensive, but mostly better anyway.
So for me, this has been largely a lesson in
"The cheap comes out more expensive".

Definitely great products for the price they're 'blowing them out' at and they will do the trick for most people.

Really haven't a clue of what to do with these 'Jam Points' ATM though. Hoping they'll let me use them against the ST3 upgrade?
(If in fact they have a demo and the demo works on my system).

Not everybody shares that view, and of course that's our oldest current product until SampleTank 3 comes out. T-RackS and AmpliTube are far more than "great products for the price" [edit - yes I know you weren't able to run them but that doesn't negate their quality for the many who can] for so many (look at the accolades EQ 73 and EQ 81 have received and the Master EQ 432, and most of the suite. The AmpliTube gear is in the same class. Not to say SampleTank 2 sounds aren't great, many feel they are too, but the SampleTank 3 sounds blow them out of the water.

Let's be clear. The Sampletank2 and the other 32 bit products work great on my system. They do me fine and the sample quality is well within my liking. As others have pointed out, the problems in updating to meet the needs of today have more to do with better editing, larger UI and 64 bit stability. I always wonder when someone speaks of the sounds being otherwise 'dated' as to what exactly 'dates' a sound anyway? Maybe the synth sounds made famous that everyone continues to emulate? Anyway, I find that claim of the sounds being dated as some strange nonsense and don't agree with that at all. The current sounds are very much usable even today.

What most of us are waiting for is the increased stability and editing functions over the new sounds. And a few have even requested a version of ST3 without the new library. That seems to tell of the quality of the sound when all they want is to run the old sounds in a better engine.

And I wouldn't bring this up, except that you brought it up Peter, so once again, I have to point out that what DIDN'T work on my system was the 64 bit effects and Amplitube3. An anomaly to be sure, but it does point out that 64 bit is no assurance that it will work for everyone now. Just as the 32 bit has problems for some now.

And before another thread gets hijacked, let's both remember that his thread is about JAM Points first and what I posted was in support of the current products and not knowing whether jam points would be of any use for me, even down the road.

So let me ask you directly, will we be able to use jam points towards the upgrade price of STank 3?
(Employing a modicum of faith that the demo will show it does work where the other IKM 64 bit products didn't).

In relation to that, I have found it necessary to prepare that it might not, and therefore, many of the sounds I like so well in STank2, I have found for Kontakt, albeit at a higher price but with additional greater functionality. (Which STank3 looks promising in being able to meet).

I'm just about to purchase the upgrade,but just noticed that we can use jam points, how is this done? How can we apply the jam points we have to the upgrade offer? Waiting on a response, then I'll make my purchase..

Contrary to what is stated in this thread, Jampoints are not allowed to be used on the current promotion.

The least you are going to spend trusampler, is $99.

That is until down the road they have their weekly fire sales and who knows what you will be able to get it for.

I doubt the price will be lower than $99 even if you can use the Jampoints when it goes to $149.

THAT will seriously piss off a whole bunch of people if that happens!

Basically, if you want the best price you will have to buy into the current offer.
