I'm waiting to see if the alleged image based synthesis will emerge in version 2. If it does I'll probably jump on board and you'd have another customer Simon

Cycle is a PITA to program, and I wouldn't call an online tutorial and an in-synth help, or whatever, a Manual. But at this stage this is not the main issue for me. The real problem is that it keeps crashing on me: changing presets, rendering... everything is an excuse to crash the damn thing
. At some point I'll consider reinstall it, or just deinstall and forget it (came in the Beat magazine cover disk); but for now I'm just curious: does it crash on someone else's system?
Win 7, Reaper 64
Edit: the 32bit version, wrapped, rendered without problem. Will dig more into this, later.

Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

Doesn't crash for me, never has. I hope Daven hasn't given up on it, it's a beautiful thing.
I went there yesterday checking for updates on what was happening.
Awfully stagnant

Then I deeply envy you. Cycle is an astonishing instrument, but if it crashes my computers left and right, I can't justify its purchase. And I know for a fact that I'm far from alone on this.
Ha ha suck it!

What's daunting to me is the fact that the site is mostly dead...it's almost as though the developer (I think his name is Devon) gave up, or perhaps is simply massively busy in the "real world".kokotte wrote:Cycle could be my favorite tool but it crash a lot on windows7, i have try it on a mac, no problem, now, i wait for an update or for flexion...let's wait
I'd really like to buy Cycle, but only when a Cycle 2 removes the crashes. It's not like Xfer or Synthmaster, where the developer tries to stay right on top of any current problems and offers updates constantly in order to satisfy customers. In comparison, Amaranth is truly a ghost developer. It's unfortunate, as the synth is potentially one of the best in my eyes (and I own TONS of v.i.s).
Ha ha suck it!

I think it's pretty cool too if it didn't crash so much. Sound wise, I've gotten things out of it that I've yet to squeeze out of any other synth.Numanoid wrote:At least Skrillex thinks Cycle is rad![]()

Stability makes it almost unusable.

I assume you're on the latest version? I had crashes a while back but they've been fixed as far as I could tell.wagtunes wrote:I think it's pretty cool too if it didn't crash so much. But yeah, I wish he was more active. I wonder what's up. It's such an amazing synth and must have taken a ton of work to develop. It would be a shame to leave it at that.
