+1 a real classic :tu:

My favourite 'choon of theirs is even older: G-Force

The other day I was thinking when we'll see another Prodigy album (and Rammstein for that matter). This track is "meh" at best. Completely uninspired. Soundwise it resembles Invaders must die (which I liked a lot), but it just lacks everything else. Let's hope the rest of the album is a lot better.

This new one is at least a lot better than Baby's Got A Temper

Please get Liam back.

Thanks Numanoid, didn't know that one, nice...sounds nastier in a good way than nasty nasty :ud:

I can't think of anybody better at programming infectious poly-rhythms like Liam Howlett.

When that synth stab riff comes in at 2:05 it's a total rush to the head :hyper:

Just thought I would post a classic to remind people what they sounded like when they were fresh and relevant...

And the toughest, awesome'est track Liam's ever composed...

It's hard to think of a more funky upbeat 'choon :hyper:

Nailed that riff after all this years too, it's E-major: B-A-B, F#-E-F#, A-G#-A, E-D-E

Heard a little bit of it on the radio today. Sounded awful, but I still need to hear the whole track.

Back in the early-to-mid-90s The Prodigy were unstoppable. While we're on a nostalgia trip I'll throw in this remix they did back in 93. At the time it was one of the hardest things I'd heard from them.

Ok, just played the video for Nasty and.. yeah it's shite. Sorry guys but you're past your best before date.

Yup :D My clubbing days was around this era and they really were doing something different from most - their tracks lit up dance floors because they weren't dark like most other rave tunes.

I had no idea they remixed Front 242! Pretty awesome track too :D

@ Numanoid - yeah G-force was a fookin' classic as well. That was one I actually used to play along to on my old keyboards back in the day :D

Howlett utilized the Roland W-30 back then, that's for sure.

But didn't he use a computer, like an Amiga or ST, for sequencing?

Just compare the playfulness of the snare programming in that Everybody In The Place song with the new release!

2:40-2:57 is pretty telling, don't think they dare release something that simple today

That has the energy of when you were 15 and could afford your first 12-bit sampler with 4kb ram, coupled with that old cheap casio you got from mom and the analog synth with a missing d4 key you bought from a cousin + and a 4 channel porta with horrible tape hiss. But you had so many silly ideas and things you had to get out you couldn't even record them fast enough... mmm .. 8)

In Nasty there's a much more interesting snare(pattern) at 0:48,1:51 and 2:52 but it is just used for a measure :( I think the track would have been more interesting if they had switched rhythm pattern and used that for the middle part. I get bored listening to the same snare/pattern introduced at 0:12 and then (over)used for the rest of the song. It is very dull.

Sounded like a poor mans 'Breathe'.
That's the nail in the coffiin. I don't think I've heard a great track from Prodigy since FotL. Not sure why I expected one now.

Their new single, Wild Frontier, is pretty good:

And the drum and bass remix of nasty is decent:
