Thanks. I'll release an open beta version soon. =)
DAHDSR - yeah, forgot to add delay and hold XD
Post over in "Instruments" reminded me -- SFZ2 does multi-point, multi-curve, target-able envelope generators as the preferred way to do all triggered envelopes. I'd suggest keeping this in mind :).
Thanks. Do you know where the SFZ2 spec is officially published? I can't seem to find any official documentation. My search just brought up threads where people are asking the same thing. =)

I am on Snow Leopard at home, but Yosemite at work.
Thanks for your efforts!
Cheers,

That should be fine, I think. I guess that's another thing we should test. :)

Problem is there's no official documentation online.

Oh well... I think I've already seen the page you provided before, and didn't see anything there the first time. In the plogue forum they have a link to that book they mentioned, but unfortunately it only leads to the cakewalk store where the book is nowhere to be found. There's lots of info in their forum though, which might be helpful in the future. Thanks!

£984.37?! I know it's hard to get hold of but that is a bit steep!

(Very good book, though. Worth every penny.)

Thanks! Now we know where to find it.

Just a thought... not to complain about the price, but for something that was supposed to be an open format I find it strange that information about the 2.0 spec is not available freely online.

Anyway... what the program essentially makes visual is the mapping of key-ranges and velocity layers. Some essential fields are there of course as you'd expect from a program like this (like vol, pan, tuning, envelopes). The rest can be added as text (from within the program) as you normally would.

So the idea here is really not to provide input fields/sliders for every single opcode in the spec, as that would offer no advantage over simply typing them. They will also clutter the workspace. I think when you're building a sample player your focus is on compliance. With editors/generators I think the focus should be on the workflow and how to shorten repetitive processes. XD

So if it makes sense to add a visual control other than a text field or a knob to an opcode, then that's the sort of thing I'd really want to experiment with.

I hope this makes the goal of the project clear.

No, £7.38 plus delivery (used). Or £21.68 plus delivery new. There is no obligation to buy the most expensive copy

Remind me to never to buy a used car from you...

Linuxsampler.org (http://www.linuxsampler.org/documentation.html) have created their own SFZ2 reference document here https://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AVrD ... bmsyd3Zmag. But you need a Google Docs account to access it (whatever one of those is).

Right, it's perfectly understandable. I think I even share the same 'mantra' when it comes to building this project. Like what I've been saying here all along, I don't think strict compliance is what matters here, as it is the workflow that I'm trying to address in the project. Besides, the spec will just keep on evolving, and it's a bit unintuitive to keep chasing the latest spec.

So my strategy is to focus on the essentials, enhance/shorten the process where possible AND beneficial, keep everything extensible, and keep it simple. =)

Even though I did say that I plan to support as much opcodes as I can, at some point I remembered that it's not what this project is for.
