I would think Mulab would be a valid option. It's just MUX with a (very) nice sequencer wrapped around it.

:hyper: Just bought this along with MULAB last month, and its awesome. I can say its well worth the asking price! I used MULAB for my Lokomotiv OSC entry instead of my usual cubase and found it so stable, quick and easy to work with. And because its modular it can only grow and get even better with use!

As for MUX, its got to be the most versatile synth ever in OSC. Looks like you can build it into almost anything you want, including all the effects modules etc. its going to be very interesting exploring some of the possibilities. I hope this challenge will produce some exciting new presets aswell as the tunes, after all, each preset can be like a whole new synth itself!.

Only thing is, maybe with all the possibilities available, could get lost in it and run out of time for tune making :scared:

Still, if a few patches is all i can do this month i will be satisfied. I'm going to get in there and see what i can come up with. Will post patches as soon as i can for anyone to use :)
On the other hand - there's so many excellent factory presets already! :? :o

FYI: Jasinski's track is back up + and on the voting page (so feel free to comment on that one).

Wrong thread, mate ;)

Mux is truly great! Bought it about half a year ago and made a pair of effects.
These effects are a bit unfinished and from an earlier version so the new cool front panel features are not implemented.
Perhaps they are of use to someone. The trance gate is pretty neat.

Note controlled trance gate:

8-tap filter delay:

Good luck, everyone! Mux is ultra deep so will be hard to finish in time :D

By the way, how will we do instance count this month... Considering you may have a Mux in a Mux in a Mux ad infinitum (Muxception!)...
Is it ok to only count the instances exposed to the DAW...?
Should we count effect-Mux separate from instrument-Mux?

Probably best to keep it simple and count the instrument instances

That brings up another really burning question, as painful as that is getting... caugh, caugh... but, uhm, since a Mux can have and be anything, the whole "chorus" and pitch modulating aspect of "effects" becomes enormously shady. It's almost like this one calls for a slight rule adjustment going:
- Except for whole samples, everything goes as long as it's mux (effect or polysynth) native (internal modules only).
- Rules for external plugins remain the same

Because, really, every module contributes to the sound of it, which includes modulated delay times, which can create pitch shifting delays and chorus effects, for example...along with plenty of other wicked stuff!

...the above is just a suggestion/question!

I think it's fine, just use your best judgement.

I think it's pretty clear cut this time :D We are free to use any and all fx in mux, as they are part of the synth! I hope I'm right on this

I would say that since many synths come with their own built in chorus and other FX, there should be nothing wrong with using MUX FX since they are built into the synth.

Here's something else. Since we're all using the same synth, we're all on equal footing. So why limit things? I can see not allowing loading of samples since not everybody has access to the same samples. But aside from that, I'd say anything else should be allowed.

Yup, I think this is a pretty clear one... just no samples.

Rules Update / Clarification

I just had a chat with the dev: Please feel free to use all features of the MultiForm Oscillator (The grain samples are waveforms not really "samples" in the tradition sense - so you cant make a real life Drum kick / tuba or piano), and the Mac MUX version inside of MuLab is identical top the windows VST version, so it is legit to use.

So just no Sampler. That makes things nice and simple.

Neat. Might open a world of possibilities...

Great, I meant to ask about that... looking at using MuLab free for this, a challenge on many levels...
