Massive has become sort of a classic in the software realm, like the Virus or Nord 2x in hardware - even though technology like virtual filter coding has moved beyond it with newer synths, it still has a character that has its own appeal sometimes. When I'm looking for sounds that are kind of glossy and ethereal, it usually delivers.
Excellent statement. Serum is Serum. It, in no way, whatsoever, is a replacement for Massive. No synth can ever replace Massive and what it has given to the world of electronic music for almost 10 years now. There's a reason for that. Nothing does what Massive does, the way it does.

Okay, I'll bite. I have Massive. I do use it. What exactly is it that Massive does that no other synth does?

Just curious.

I'm inclined to say... Serum smashes Massive. Will it smash M2? Dunno...

But I'm sure Serum 3 will! :D
they are not the same animal
neither smashes either
both are wonderful
that being said Serum can use .tun files and allows for changing reference pitch just like Omnisphere

Massive is one of a kind.
Still, one of the best soft synths made.
This synth can do so many things and has its own unique sound.

It will only get better....

I would suggest getting your teeth into Reaktor 6, may well be a sign of what could be incorporated into a Massive sequel; filters, vcos, ext/int syncing, routing...
