Main differences from what I can tell:
1) multivoice / multigranular oscillators
2) wavetable oscillator
3) some more FX including a bunch of guitar pedal board things
4) runs better / less CPU (e.g. Ircam Stretch seems to work in real time)
5) interface is improved - particularly organisation / arrangement

Just my opinion and there are obviously more but these are the things i've noticed.

I've just reported a bug. Not sure if anyone else can confirm this but:

"Favorite places" I've added in previous sessions show up as unclickable icons that cannot be deleted.

I'm using OSX 10.10, v1.0.0. x64 of Falcon.

Modwheel to LFO depth or stuff like that can be easily done.
Thanks for that. Thought it must do, but couldn't see instructions at a cursory glance. Just noticed there's another huge thread about this too. Sorry if I've derailed discussion. If I get a chance I'll look into it a bit more. Shame the manual seems rather thin given its potential - without a comprehensive manual or a demo, it's little hard to know exactly what's on offer.

Just got this and spent the whole evening going through the presets, there are some fantastic sounds that come with this. It's a shame there is no way of knowing who made which presets.

CPU is good with my ageing macbook and damn this thing is deep; this is definitely going to be my go to synth for a while.

Only thing that bugs me is that there is no forum or community space/forum on UVI.net or even here on KVR. I'm going to have a zillion questions about this and it would be nice to go somewhere to ask them without feeling like I'm spamming the KVR instruments forum. Also would be a good place to share user creations/scripts etc.

But anyway don't want to detract from the product which is first class, get it while it's cheap.

I believe I was able to spot a lot of Simon's (Patchpool.de) stuff, as I own a lot of his excellent libraries, but it is a shame that they do not name the preset's creator like Omnisphere does, for example.

What 20% off? I see 34% off which make it $229. Do you see 20% off somewhere on a top of that?

How are you planning to use the $100 voucher? It says- it can be used toward any product. I don't see any samples libraries or expansions for Falcon. Everything looks like small software synth.

Just reported the same bug, if you go to the non tree browser at the top you can right click and remove them, I got them by adding folders into "places" from within places. Also will happen if folder does not exist anymore.

Cubase 15, Ableton Live 12

Just purchased from Best Service with the Halloween20 code. Came out to $208.49 I received an instant serial number from BS and as soon as I registered it with UVI I got the $100 voucher. Psyched it was all automated and I didn't have to wait.

Download, installation and iLok activation was smooth and painless. Adding my other UVI libraries was a breeze.

Awesome interface and great sound so far! Looking forward to digging in.

These folders haven't moved and still exist. I just have to access them via documents/sound/samples every time now.
*EDIT* Worked it out - thanks for your advice. Adding them from "Devices" seems to work.

After a hiccup on my part trying to figure out how to load the synth oscillators , here is my first impression of Falcon :

PROS :

1)resizeable GUI as well as being able to hide the left and right menus is a huge plus

2) The sound quality is excellent and the filters are quite nice.

3) Incorporation of my existing UVI instruments was a piece of cake and I actually prefer to use the instruments in Falcon because they have new life now with all the added fx and features

4)Have not had a single crash , glitch or bug as of yet (only 4 hours of use so far)

5)I've read that you can import the wavetables from Serum into Falcon which will expand the synth's sounds

6)The GUI is clean and the module are tidy

7)The option to load a loop and set it a slices

8)CPU usage does not seem to be as bad as some other current VST synths

CONS:

1) Falcon can get busy in a hurry and trying to find things will take some time ( it will be a somewhat steep learning curve for beginners)

2) The menu system can be a bit much at times, back and forth .

3)I would prefer a drag and drop system for adding devices , samples etc. You can drag and drop some things but it would be much faster and easier to drag in what you want from a list.

4) Yes ,you can slice loops , but I would like to see more capabilities added for mangling loops or adjusting individual elements independently and easily . I plan to spend a lot of time figuring out what can be done in regards to this .

5) The manual is decent but does not go in depth much.

6)It would be great if there was an fx version of Falcon to be used in your DAW as a multieffect unit , but that is unavailable at this time . Maybe in a future update?

Overall , I'm glad I picked this up . It breathes new life into my existing UVI instruments as well as giving options for creating your own synths and making new instruments from samples . Many different types of synthesis incorporated into one machine , while having almost endless creative possibilities. The sound quality is very good and this is just the beginning of what is already a great synth workstation. Falcon is it's own blend of unique things though and really can't be compared with the likes of Serum and Kontakt as many are doing. On some levels it is a bit a both , but it is also something very different too. I can only imagine what the updates to Falcon will bring in the future .

I have a repeatable crash that is understandable.
If I assign some controllers to the Push in Ableton and then change the oscillator - one touch of the controller I'd previously assigned causes Ableton to CTD.
Also finding the UI a bit laggy in Ableton Live 9.

But you can already do that? You can drag and drop oscillators, presets, effects from the right-side browser. You can drag and drop a bunch of samples from Explorer/Finder...

Thanks for tip; do you know when the Halloween20 code expires?
I couldn't find the link to the demo version on uvi site. Does someone have it?
