How many sample layers? Round Robin?
Compressors for classical instruments? Really?

This was already answered on the first page under "Seamless Integration":braj wrote: Does Miri 2 allow you to load its samples directly in ST3 like the old version did for ST2?
"This means that it can be used on its own as a standalone instrument or as an additional library inside of the SampleTank 3 sound and groove workstation."

That's a crossgrade item. Thanks for your inquiry and the part I didn't quote.filkertom wrote:Does Miroslav Classic Edition work for getting the $199 upgrade, or is that a crossgrade item?

1. I'll see if they might add more specifics to the sounds page.Bombadil wrote:How many sample layers? Round Robin?

2. I know, really?? Nobody would use classical instruments for modern tracks or genres that might benefit from or include compression as part of the 'signature' of the sound! How silly of IK to do something so dumb!

Didn't answer my question regarding velocity layers or round robin, Peter. Also, won't accept my jampoints.

I am eligible for the upgrade price, but I can't input €59 jampoints (I have 117).

As for this, I just see it as unnecessary. Integrated into ST3, the FX are there. You can also use the FX within the DAW, which is probably far more CPU efficient.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:1. Does it hurt anything to add it for those that aren't going to load the library into SampleTank? Edit - and I'm not ignoring the JamPoints issue/comment, that's being looked at to see who can and cannot use them and will be rectified ASAP.Bombadil wrote:As for this, I just see it as unnecessary. Nööööö. I am expressing my opinion on what my current capabilities are, and as most would use this within a DAW, the FX are there. Any idea why I can't redeem my jampoints?

I was specifically offered the 50 jampoints for this sale, and as I own ST3, I am eligible.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Does it hurt anything to add it for those that aren't going to load the library into SampleTank? Not only did the jampoints show up in my account as promised, but before I even went into my account I got a pop-up announcing that I was getting additional jampoints. As a very long-time IKM customer, it is an appreciated gesture.
I go back a long way on KVR and with IKM. I really can't recall any time when IKM hasn't been on the receiving end of a lot of vitriol. But then again, most developers on this board take their share of guff as well.
I do agree that this latest round of criticism is a bit over the top considering the overall direction that IKM seems to be headed regarding their products and customer relations. There's always room for improvement, of course, but in my experience, IKM has always been responsive to customer feedback. They famously scrapped their newly-implemented dongle policy some years back in response to customer complaints. More recently, there have been improvements to many aspects of the consumer experience. And, perhaps most importantly, their flagship products have, for the most part, exceeded expectations for performance and features. For me in particular, Sampletank 3 has been, and remains, a very pleasant surprise in this regard.
Are they perfect? Far from it. But it has been clear to me that they are, at least, trying. And by many metrics, they've been trying pretty hard.
Now I'm sure many of you reading this might dismiss me as a fanboy or worse. I can assure you that if you dig up some of my earlier posts--especially regarding the development and release of ST3--you will find that this is definitely not the case.
I'll need to hear some demos before I buy, but with the ST3 improvements and the added incentives, Miro 2 is certainly worth a look for me.
Cheers

Hmmmmm. I loved a lot of the content in the original MP. Some of it I even prefer over the VSL SE equivalents. In fact, it was the first 'real' product I bought from IKM. I just find, for my purposes, the bells and whistles are unnecessary, adding cost and CPU usage, kinda like the looper and 8 track in Amplitube 4.
I do think, though, at the full price, there ought be multiple velocity layers (I think the original MP had only 1) and round robin.

No wait! As Miro said it isn't about the money..TheKid wrote:Wow, 400 € intro / 500 € regular price for a mix of old samples and new ones? That's more than steep.
