I demo'ed Slicex about 6 months ago and really wanted to like it. However I couldn't get rid of the ASIO spikes in my old Cubase 5.
So I'd really recommend to thoroughly demo it before hitting the buy button.

I still prefer Phatmatik to Slicex, Halion 5 is my preferred slicer though, followed by the TAL sampler (which isn't so good at auto-slicing but has some nice creative features).

Actually, I still prefer NI Intakt. A shame that they discontinued it! Maybe you can find it cheap 2nd hand ...
