Helm looks nice but doesn't sound great unfortunately (imho).
Yes. at least in that respect it is very good indeed.
Not so sure about CPU. It uses more CPU power than Sylenth on my computer. Probably because it has 0df filters...

Are you mocking that poor guy? Or did you miss the part about his vision 8)

I think we need to be a bit pragmatic here and point out that the OP is not going to find a freeware synth equivalent to Sylenth, Hive, Spire, etc. But, that doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of great free synths out there for most dance music genres, including many of the ones already mentioned. I'll add one more (Tone2 Firebird 2) that is great for dance music and seems like it would be pretty easy to read for someone with vision problems:

This is really one of the best sounding free plug ins I've ever tried. It could easily be a commercial release.

I want to find not only a synthesizer with a beautiful sound, but also convenient for use by the blind.
Sorry, I missed seeing that part.

Free synths like Tyrell N6, MauSynth and Zebralette mean you do not need to spend a dime to get started.

Great to see T-Force Alpha Plus mentioned too! Instant high-qual trance sounds in that freebie. Shame about the 32-bit only.

Very good idea!

I suggest we contact u-he and try to convince them if we gather enough free coupons (I have one I don't need it), the OP can have Hive for the total. (I believe that Hive is the best because it has the sound the OP wants and it is re-sizable)

If u-he agree, then I have the first $25 coupon for the OP :)
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Good idea, i can donate my U-He coupon or join the group buying a synth for this guy.

I like Firebird, but Reaper is not available in the choice of waveforms.
In Reaper plugin Osara e-mail list there are autohotkey scripts to control the mouse in this synth, i will test it today.

fluffy_little_something wrote:Sylenth would be ideal for you, as it uses very little CPU, you like its sound, and you could change the GUI size in the new version. Maybe LD are willing to give you a license at a reduced price.
It hurts me to see you already have such vision problems at your young age, not to mention your location (I suppose the war is not over).
Maybe we can donate you a Sylenth or Hive license together somehow :)
Thank you very much for your help. I recently learn to write songs and now I want to free the synths to do something.

I have 11 dollars and collect on buy Tone2 Electrax. In article one the blind musician i've read that this synth is almost entirely accessible to the blind. And I enjoy its sound.
Soon scraped together to buy this synth.

I think the new Tone2 Electra is Electra2. Is that the same as ElectraX?

In this case, I can donate a software that I don't need (I can sell it in the market place, then send the money). Or maybe we can do a thread in the market place similar to that of the kids charity in order to help Pure-fire.

What you guys think? if the OP and you are OK with that, then let's try to gather some funds for the guy to buy his synth.

Well, I suppose it is best for you to first test the candidates thoroughly so that you are sure which one is best for your vision and music in the long run, because a donated license will likely be an NFR license in my view.

Unlike with Hive or Sylenth, with Electra2 one can not use all effects simultaneously, which was a real dealbreaker in my case. So if you don't have free external effects suitable for the visually impaired, you might consider that aspect as well.

Despite improvements Spire still seems to use clearly more CPU power than Hive and Sylenth, so maybe that would be a problem as well when you got a weak computer, like I do 8)

Spire has a great strain, i can only use it 6 copies. Alpha plus runs 18 tracks and my notebook only slows down then.
The standard effects I use in Reaper, a lot of them and they are fully controlled using the keyboard.

What is NFR license?
And how do you make money on music?
If I write decent music can I earn money to buy a synthesizer.

Not for resale

Highly unlikely.

Put possible if you write some radio-format crap
