The nearest thing for me is Discovery Pro. It's not quite the same but after processing and FX, it will stack up nicely.

Seems to me the term easy to mix also indicates something about the mix as well as about the synth fitting into it.ghettosynth wrote:I guess I just don't see the "bandpass filter of low quality emulation" as an advantage today. I think that people probably think of certain synths fondly, for whatever reason, and this "easy to mix" thing is just something that gets said a lot about thin synths so it gets repeated.

I had that notion as well...Aiynzahev wrote:U-he Bazille. It just struck mean as having a similar quality to it's sound as the Nord Lead 4 (when I had one).

Swear i saw the upgrade/crossgrade price listed at €49 yesterday, today it is at €79I'm thinking about upgrade to Discovery Pro 6, can get it at €49 during the sale
I guess I maybe need glasses. Too bad for discodsp, I would be tempted to upgrade at €49, but not at €79

dcam stuff strobe and cypher , he is looking for something that sit nice in the mix like old nords, you can rule out all the dark sounding synth with low mids emphasis ( these low mids sound bad anyway on these plugins , muddy unlike analog synth , these are a pain to get right in the mix if you want it crystal clear )
i would add some tal audio synth like noizemaker and the sh101 emu and sit easy in the mix a bit similar to a nord : waldorf largo ( sound a bit like a mix of a nord and a virus ), maybe serum and mpowersynth ? you won't have a dirty sound of a 90va on these ..these sound way more hifi ,maybe mpowersynth not in high quality for the fm so it get more noisy.. still far away from a nord sound caractere i guess but the tonal balance is good to sit easy in the mix on all the plugins i listed .
basically you want a synth that can sound easily great in the mix without any fx and processing just like when using nord back in the middle 90s , and i gave you modern synths with these similar quality with some caractere going from a bit dirty to hifi
