deal with it.
Crackbaby wrote:You really think that this ..: "Low latency on poor asio drivers would give higher cpu usage that on well written ones." is the answer??
Deal with what?
A fact that everybody knows about here?

You just slide away from the issue. Is that your style?

You did start picking on me. WHY?

 :P :? :)
 Someone makes a factual comment, and you call them ignorant, and say they need therapy, and you expect polite responses? Answer you? Why? So you can make some more smart ass comments? Once you're done acting like you're 13 years old, let me know.

You didnt answer me politely either, so why should i act in any other way than a 13 years old..?

I probably know more about psychology than you. I am aware of that i need therapy (and thus i go to a shrink). His post was stupid, so was mine, and so was yours. Therefore we all need therapy. Right? Umm..
Dear gurus,

Audigy Platinum
KX drivers

Here's the problem:Dek
Okay, so i see. Dekkie is the problem. Yes, very factual. Very factual indeed.
With nearly two thousand posts topaz must have learned a thing or two about DAW. And saying
"maybe, but low latency on lower end cards = hi CPU
." when they first guy wrote
"Even when idle it's at 80% with only 3 synths loaded (vanguard, EXS24 and z3ta+)on 3 tracks."
is ignorant. He knows better. He must know better. I find that ignorant, stupid .. bad .. whatever.

All you try to do is to make me go away by undermining my credability (or however it spells). Well .. good luck.

:-o You turned my statement of 'your answer is lacking knowledge' into me attacking your credibility? This is your justification to act immature? Some people act with a little more grace and maturity when someone says they're wrong, something you might want to discuss with your therapist.

Anyway, enjoy your little tirade here of entertaining yourself, I got better things to do. Subject dropped. If this is just SOOO important to you, PM me.

DevonB: If you find this unimportant (the opposite of me finding it SOOO important), dont ever reply or quote me again. Then this will never happen.

Topaz: Perhaps something inside you should say NO before you submit and tell the topicstarter that he is the problem. It was his third post..

ne'er mind....

If I disagree with you, I will. It's an open forum. If ya don't like what people say, ya don't post. Pretty simple. And "ordering" me to never reply just opened ya up for more.

wow.

getting back to latencies in general, i find it easy enough to compensate for latencies of 20-50 ms, but the problem is that the midi data then gets entered too early into the piano roll and has to be shifted back by the appropriate amount. that becomes more effort than its worth.

When I was younger I used to be in doubt. These days I'm not so sure.

I guess so. I know I ain't the only one that gets bugged by this, this subject has certainly come up before on these forums.

So now my monitors which are about 1.5 meters away sound like their in my driveway. :P

Seriously it's what your use to...I was forced for a short time to work @12ms which was as low as my Yamaha 2416 DSPF would go. Then I changed soundcards and got 3ms with a little CPU hit...but no dropouts under heavy load.

Now a couple system upgrades later I get 1.5ms (64 sample buffer) comfortably...and bump that up to 3ms to use SIR during mix-down. Although I thought 12ms latency was fine when it was my only option, now it's very annoying...cause 2yrs of dealing with 3ms or less has conditioned me.

edit - never mind

3ms is the wavelength of a note played at E4 in air.

Wish I could hear well enough to distinguish individual wavecrests.
