I have nothing against the guy, I don't even dislike what I've heard, I'm just saying that being bummed about not making money over "record sales" is pretty weird.
That's a good point. I imagine Hawtin was making 90% of his revenues from live performance even before people stopped buying music. The reality is today's musicians release music to get people to go to their live shows and a legend like him is beyond needing to do that.

OTOH, Deadmaus still releases music even though he's beyond needing to. Maybe people do still buy music, they just don't buy Hawtin's music?

That's actually really annoying (sorry to hijack thread).

Redbull.... :dog:

What a great influence to the generation of new musicians. : :scared: Instead of a "vegetables, and healthy food music academy" we have this bs influence. Not saying the academy sucks, just the influence / marketing / subliminal bs.

No clue. Though I quite "like" techo/etc/whatever. Like I said earlier (in my humor "fail" post ) "honey, do we need more 4 to floor music on our TB drive?

I don't care what music you like, saturation and easy access is a killer.

Even me (mr collect cd's) is all about youtube these days.

Did anyone watch the videos? Because a lot of the comments are misinformed and doesn't even reflect what Richie is saying in the videos.

Abstinence? Definitely. Prayer? Definitely not.

haven't seen the video and haven't seen him in clubs for a long time. In Germany he is very famous, and has only sets on big festivals.
I think the club culture in germany is ongoing growing and has nothing to do with mainstream edm, so in the USA nobody noticed them.
