BKE.

Can you imagine a dedicated DAW that perfectly integrates with Beat Thang? That would be the dopest of all dope for making phat beatz.

Seriously, though, I don't really see any pressing need for more DAWs. That said, the idea of a FabFilter DAW, as far-fetched as it is, could be intriguing.

Anyone who could implement a reliable score editor in it. That and a GUI without colour gradients. Oddly specific I know.
Besides that, yes, Microsoft could come up with something real good...

Native Instruments and Spectrasonics, the later being the more likely to do so.
I agree, Native Instruments would also be more than capable, with their experience with Maschine, and their great content, if they implemented Komplete into it.

Is there a market for a new host? We already have cubarse, pro tools, live, etc... none of those are perfect. Why would a new one be any different?

IMO, no. There are plenty of options. Nothing is perfect, as you say, but then, that's rather first world problems. Especially considering how people used to have to make music, and what we have on offer now.

I'd like to see them try again too. New code base.. from scratch. Same concept of Orion though but with the Live timing underneath and vastly improved automation. Modern GUI with a new GUI team.

Why another VST or VSTi? We have vast amounts of quality choices.. doesn't stop people from developing new ones. :ud:

Yes, imo. Daw users, music hobbyists, every other related category surrounding that thing that buys these things are arguably among the most transient segment out there, always searching for the next new or cool thing. :)

See Studio One where people asked that same question 6-7 years ago. Then Bitwig, when Live already existed.

If you build it somebody will always come. :hihi:

FabFilter?

It would probably be something like the latest and planned incarnations of FL Studio.

There's always a market. We all need excuses to not make music around here ;)

Fabfilter for sure, the DAW GUI needs a revolution and they could do it. I love Live GUI but would also love to see what the talented guys of Fabfilter could do for a DAW.

Native instruments would also be interesting, what kind of controllers they could develop.

What if the Ableton guys would just let the FabFilter guys redesign Live's GUI? :hyper:

That would be interesting, but I love 2d flat GUI of Live, I would like to see an alternative with FF aesthetics (3d and colourfull but not skeumorphic).
