Personally I love Zeta2 and Rapture Pro. Zeta has so much raw power that it almost drills holes to my ears and rapture pro is the king for evolving pads with its superlong envelopes.

I'd say great! Go for it. Whatever sparks your creativity. I've just had Cakewalk Sonar and their synths forever... (not really... since around 2005). I love Sonar. Their synths... I sorta liked for a while... but compared to what's available out there now... not so much. But I'm not really into raw sound design from scratch from basic synth functions. More into how I can creatively use them in the context of a full track. Others are way better than I'll ever be at creating the synth sounds. I just basically like to use them as partners in a complete work of sound collage. So, yeah... tastes differ in numerous creative ways... all for the better. Cheers. :D

I do agree. Compared to the latest generation of soft synths, they do lack a bit. I always had kind of a soft spot for Z3TA though, version 1 was the first commercial soft synth i owned, and i quite liked it at that time. Z3TA 2 still does quite good with many sounds, but the filters are a bit harsh, and i don't like the resonance behavior too much. The waveshaping approach is quite nice though, and i would like to have that in other synths. It's also very versatile with its architecture, but i know quite a few points they could improve for future versions. Anyway, not likely to happen anytime soon, so, that's that. :)

Zeta just needs a new zdf filter/s and its life will be extended for a quite a bit while longer.
