Sytrus is back!

I'm more excited about the 72 new presets, Sytrus finds it's way into every song I've ever made.

I thought the new skin in FL Studio 12.3 would simply be a vector adjustment so that the old skin could be blown up.

But they have in fact added a beautiful new interface for this great plug

I like it... Mostly. I tend to like clean but somewhat skeuomorphic designs where it makes sense. Like for buttons. A little shading can go a long way toward suggeting how a UI element can be interacted with. But, on this one, they drop the ball by making the knobs in the matrix non skeuomorphic. Once you go with a president, you should stick with it. Makes for a nice consistancy. I won't complain too much about this though, it's a big improvement. I might have made it a little more contrasty, but just a bit.

I'm fascinated by all these "normcore" GUIs. Is it all due to JUCE?

It's all down to flat design norm, i guess. I can't say i dislike it. It's elegant, and looks clear. Although i sort of dislike those knobs on the right, that looks pretty untidy.

Design in general is moving toward flatter, less shaded looks at least partly because of the variety of devices people are viewing graphics on. It has to make sense and be uncluttered even on a little phone screen.

Also, aside from not busy,
flat designs make more graphical sense when many are open,
somewhat conforming in style,
if your host is a blank canvas like eXT or Cubase.

The only things I wish were different on this UI(user since FL5),
is that I would like it in lemon yellow with the original lemon slice logo

Yeah I was so pleased Sytrus is finally a usable size. It's only been 10 years we've been asking

I wonder if the vector GUIs will be improved visually, and that this is just the first working version

I just updated FL and checked it out for myself, the larger size actually looks better than the initial image shared.

Good question, seems more or less the same people that made Sytrus also made Harmor:
