The one I have has got 128 preset slots. I still can't use any other preset apart from #1 all the rest obviously are blank to start with, but as already mentioned I can't get any sound from the synth on any other patch, no matter what knob or slider I use.
How do I create new patches on preset #2 - 128 if it doesn't make sounds on preset #2 - 128. ?

Also as mentioned, I don't understand vst host, I did download it, but I can't figure out how to make a sound out of it in order to create patches.

VST-host is - as the name it says - a Host to load VSTi´s/VST......

Create a patch on the synth and save it as .fxp or a whole bank as .fxb in there....
you can use VST-Host (with Legree - take a look at Herman Seib´s Website) as Host in a host
in FL12 or any other DAW too.....

But what do I use to make a noise as I am trying to make a patch ? qwerty keyboard won't work with it and my Microkorg / USB - midi won't generate a sound in vst host.

Post

So you have to choose the "Microkorg" under 'Midi-Devices' - Midi-Input
...and choose the right "output" - soundcard.....

If this works with FL as your DAW - this will work with VST-host too

All knobs and sliders on all K.-Brown-Synths are at point zero.....(volume too).
So create any patch from scratch or copy from #1 to #2 and so on....

Cakebox over at DSP Robo suggested I next do an automation cleanup of one of the Buchla-ish things in observance of Don Buchla's passing. Since the weakest parts of my stabs at Buchla stuff have been the random voltage sources and the sequencers, until I get help with those I did one of the few that doesn't have either.

Doesn't sound like a Buchla, but still interesting to explore his unique ideas about architecture, signal flow and control voltages.

@AutoMotto

By default, Polyphony (above the Tonus label, bottom right) is set to Mute ... maybe some other setting will work better ... ?
None of the really dumb people I knew when I was young are young any more.

YES!

'Mute' will turn the entire synth off. I'll have to see if there's a way I can prevent it opening up at that setting.

Where you set the Parameter name for automation (in SM), there's an input box for a Default value ... you'll figure it!

Default for the polyphony selector was set at 0. Interesting that it opens up in vstHost in the state everything was in when I save it as vst (which is why I never noticed the poly default was at 0), but by now you're all sick of hearing how awesome vstHost is ; )
Maybe when these are opened in a regular DAW all controls open at their default settings?

Poly default now set to 10 notes.

Got another done. Partial CS-80 emulation, 80-vox. Swaps Ring Mod for a second LFO.

Very slight update to tonus 2620: added the ability to connect 'nothing' to an input, as in inserting a dummy plug on the 2600.
