Physical modeling for drums is also done in Reason's Kong.
The best bowed string instrument modeling I'm aware of is on the iPad as FingerFiddle. Wonderfully playable, that.
Anyway, I'll be watching to see what comes from this product announcement. Not nearly enough physical modeling synthesis is being developed. Too many [patents] being held and nothing done with...
Edit: patents, autocorrect. Seriously.

Um...I have to admit, this could be really exciting. Let's see what happens in a week!

Could you stay on topic please. This constant facetiousness is giving me the hump.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:Maybe they could release a 'lite' version, and call it 'Quasi-Modo'![]()

FFS ... can't you stay on topic? You're scratching so much, anyone would think you had Fleas
Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

It seems IK has started sponsoring a hockey team before even revealing what MODO is.

u-he has been toying with that for a while. Pretty good stuff.Chandlerhimself wrote:That sounds good. I've been waiting for someone else besides AAS to do some modeled drums.
For some reason, last I heard they weren't sure it will become a product.
No because IRCAM was created in the 1960s or 1970s I believe (by Pierre Boulez).aMUSEd wrote:The clip mentions collaboration with a European University - so is this anything to do with IRCAM Modalys?

It will become a product, just not exactly like what we've shown, i.e. what we've shown was a work-in-progress technology and that technology is going to be put into a product or two.lolilol1975 wrote:u-he has been toying with that for a while. Pretty good stuff.

Curious to see what IK has to offer

It would be great if it is Drum & Bass in one. With Drums section (with its sequencer) and a Bass section (with a second sequencer). Also, the bass can accompany the drums with all the tools and wizards to make them fit together
Anyway, if the acoustic instruments would be all modelled, what shall we fill our disks with?

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

My guess is grand promises of revolution, buggy, poorly designed mediocre sounding overpriced software with bad support and zero iteration.Urs wrote:Curious to see what IK has to offer

My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.
