The story goes as I remember was the GUI came first before the Synth. AQ has a strong preference and sentimental attachment to the original GUI which is why it's still the default. He took a lot of crap for the GUI for years and finally relented and allowed skinning. You sort of have to admire him for sticking to his principles for so long even in the face of all the complaints and lost sales. Sadly I don't think the new skins gave PolyAna the bump in sales that was hoped for.....
There are enough skins available that everyone should find something they can at least work with. Use the Drop Down Menus instead of the Dials, that helps the default gui a bit.
I would not expect a resizable GUI but I suppose anything is possible.....
I use this one. Perfectly functional here.
