Subject: The Day the Earth Stood Still Again

"Bluedad's "vurx" and this song sound v-e-r-y similar.... hmmm. I like yours better tho. Good effort "

So far by reading his other posts, he's a demo user par excellence..

I 'introduced' myself to him in one of your threads, vurt :D

Hope he's still around, I look forward to more funtime with bananaa-boy :hyper:

Thanx for posting the patch dad! :D

Had a listen to it last night.
A/B`ing from patch to your tune,(just a few times)...I might need to look a bit closer...might be how you articulate the playing or something like that...to get just what you got out of it that worked so well in your tune!
....................Don`t blame me for 'The Roots', I just live here. :x

First off i think you did a good job on this tune, Nice use of guitar intermingling with the xphrase squencing. And also like the circular motion you have created, keeps it moving nicely. Good work gary.

Hey bluedad this sounds exactly like Soniccat's "The day the earth stood still again". I smell plageurism! Not a bad sound though, nothing great, but listenable enough
While there is the use of sequencing in both tunes they do not sound remotely alike. Just to clarify I did not get influenced by this piece and as Bluedad wrote he posted his first so he did not get influemced by mine. If anyone deserves the credit for influencing me in some of my work it would have to go to Tangerine Dream since they have been doing sequencing for close to thirty years now, I guess it is the single note sequencing that is similar. I used M42 for that, Tim Conrardy deserves the credit for the patch, as well as an Alesis Ion with my own programing. And lets not forget the use of sequencing in Vurts work, and Mystahr's, Scott Solida, etc. etc.

Great tune Gary, mind if i steel some of your music for my next tune

hehe, feel free!
btw, vurt was the inspiration for this, as he was the one wanting to hear xphrase. So, I tried to doing something I thought might be close to his style.
of course, that is unimitable, and under 5 minutes, so..

If John can inspire to make good music than he should be able to post a tune every hour of the day if he wants to. 8)

Bit late on this track, but better late than never, eh ?
I like it. The sounds work great together and the whole feel of the track is most relaxing 8)
I don't usually like accoustic instruments (or their virtual modelled counterparts), but I do like the guitar on this track. When it comes in at about 0200, it sounds delightful. I would have added some lush pads behind it, just to add to the delight, but that's me and my pad addiction :P
Gary, I have to admit to being quite partial to your ambient efforts

On a separate level, this track makes me want to check Xphrase out - although I am somewhat scared off by its apparent complexity...

Wow blue im the only one that didnt like the middle the best, I kept wanting a few bars to get up and dance to cause of all the energy that i felt in that track. Impressive played/placed sounds in the song!
