Thanks for your help. I'll give the Quartz AudioMaster Freeware a good look.

A free version of a comercially released program makes since to me. For notation, Sibelius is an intuative, complete program, most most educators will use finale products because there is free and a low-cost versions avaliable as well.

BTW, I tried the educator version of logic (on a mac) and I had a some trouble with it. It isn't laid out like I think.
