You assume too much. The point isn't always to imitate acoustic instruments. If you don't like the sound of synthesized strings and drums, fine, but people often use keyboards just because they like the sound of keyboards. There doesn't need to be another reason.nocompromise wrote:as i've already made my point about strings http://www.kvr-vst.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=609580
I'm not even gonna DL this........
guitarists don't use keyboards to play the guitar. Either do string players!![]()
Why don't u try thinking about how they actually play their parts? Isn't that what we do with drums when we wanna make it sound like a drummer?

Hmm, an entertaining thread indeed.
I'm a keyboard player, average at that. Self taught, can't read or write music. But it's all I can play. So I use keyboard to play my drums, bass, guitars and strings etc in all my songs. Cool huh?
Now take Phil Collins. First and foremost a drum player. He uses keyboards to play all the other instruments on his mad-at-home albums too.
A midi keyboard with a computer and VSTi's is the ultimate imitator. With those simple tools you can be whatever musician you want to be.
Magic!
