So they both host the same snapins?OneOfManyPauls wrote:I thought snap heap was the original/vanilla host for the snapins- with multipass being a premium multiband super-host type thing.

They do, snap heap is not multiband, just serial or parallel signal path.
*Actually, multipass was the original product, snap heap was introduced
later as freeware.

Don’t know why, but Melda never appealed to me. Partly because of the GUI, partly because of apparent complexity. Got the free bundle and really wanted to like it. Never did.

Got this and Multipass makes the routing of plugins in multiband scenario a breeze, much easier than Melda, which is way more expensive. For 99 bucks this is a steal, for the full retail not worth it. In Live, sure there is a roundabout way of splitting with multiple eq, which is not sonically the most ideal. If you are in Logic, Cubase or any of the other linear DAWs then this is really handy.

Wow, you buy individuals at that price?Fleer wrote:Anyway, the AudioPluginDeals bundle is the better deal, at over $3 per plugin, while The Works would cost you over $5 each.
The Transient Shaper is fricken unbelievable, try it out.

You can automate everything except Snapins/FX's parameters directly, you'd use LFOs, ENVs, Macros, etc.acYm wrote:any thoughts on the amount and quality of multi-fx presets that come with Multipass?
also, can you automate everything you see on the interface, or just the performance panel?

Talking about plugins within bundles of course.Everglide wrote:Wow, you buy individuals at that price?Fleer wrote:Anyway, the AudioPluginDeals bundle is the better deal, at over $3 per plugin, while The Works would cost you over $5 each.

Transient Shaper is awesome. Most of these Toolbox plugins are. Just look at Distortion, Tape Stop, EQ, Compressor, Reverb, Reverser and the lot. You won’t pause, Multipass is incredible fun.

Love the low CPU of Kilohearts plugs. Their filter 'Snapin' was such a steal for $9 recently.

Before I make a decision on this, I'm trying to get a handle on its use.
I'm getting the impression that unlike EQ, Compression and Limiting that is essentially used to get your sounds to sit in the mix properly, this toolkit is more along the lines of delays, chorus, distortion, etc, to add FX to your sounds.
Pretty much?
If so, what is the advantage of this over these FX individually?

Okay, I just watched this demo video that gave me a much clearer idea of what this thing can do.
Now THAT is cool.
This would be almost impossible to do in Cubase with individual FX. I don't even know where I'd begin.

I remember making a suggestion that your next new synth library should be an FX library instead. Given your love of all things modular, this could be right up your streetwagtunes wrote:Okay, I just watched this demo video that gave me a much clearer idea of what this thing can do

With something like this, it's not a crazy idea.shonky wrote:I remember making a suggestion that your next new synth library should be an FX library instead. I will actually consider it. Worse case scenario is it totally bombs and I still have a nice collection of presets to use myself.
