Let me show you what these things actually do
CanOpener
For me this is the most transparent crossfeed. Cuts the side lows, dips the mid mids and doesn't touch highs with its new Hyperrealistic algorithm (maybe just a little)
Cans2Cones
Extreme version of crossfeed, very agressive narrowing. It sounds interesting though, focusing the image, making a track sound in your face. Not for everyone that's for sure, it is impossible to set the right delay and reverb amount with this plugin, you should constantly check your mix with it off to see if you're drowning in reverb already or not. Really great for different listening experience OTOH, especially if you're not alright with an excessive stereo separation in your headphones. But again, too extreme. Happily switched to CanOpener
Redline Monitor
So many fellas love this plugin. The narrowing is strong, you can tune it to your taste, but there is really weird thing is going on on the highs, clearly audible, unlike any crossfeed plugin out there. The reason why i don't like it
So i guess CanOpener is the best solution for headphones, after eq calibration of course. Two hours left until the end of the sale at Goodhertz, you can grab CanOpener (or any other plugin) for additional 50% discount. I bought it for just 22$. Just write a track using one or several of these plugins, share it with them, show your plugins settings and get 50% coupon. Read it here in Orders https://goodhertz.co/faq/

I didn’t really like Canopener nor Isone nor the waves abbey roads stuff because for me they changed the sound too much in a weird way. I used to use Morphit which is great, but switched to Sonarworks which I initially bought for room correction (helped a lot even in my untreated room).
For cross feed the only plugin I liked was airwindows monitoring in the A setting (maybe B, definitely not C!). It’s the only airwindows plugin I use because I don’t need to edit anything, just keep it on one setting on my headphone monitoring channel, followed by Reference.
Works for me.

Which works like a simple stereo narrower, just dims the sides a bit without changing frequency response. The same effect can be achieved with any stereo manipulaton plugin.Though it is so easy to replicate CanOpener with ANY M/S equalizer either, so nothing bad about Monitoring being so simple, it just isn't crossfeed, but it works and that's what matters mostfese wrote: Tue Mar 17, 2020 5:55 pm For cross feed the only plugin I liked was airwindows monitoring

I went back and took another look, this time alongside Airwindows Monitoring. Inserted Nugen Stereoizer in the chain prior with a Linear Width of 200%, which definitely makes the distinction more apparent. CanOpener just doesn't do it for me. Monitoring much more my style.
