pretty sure they are all good though. Let me know of any problems...

Enjoy...
Thank you. :tu:
You're welcome :tu:

Seems the ultimate channel strip is going on sale this friday for $49,
I've been waiting for that deal. :D

I will definitely make the presets for that as well.

Now you're making it look tempting. Must resist. :)

In light of the current sale, and since Uncle E was kind enough to get me my reg-code so quickly,
here are the Ultimate Channel Strip presets in (.fxp) format as promised. In case anyone needs
them.

I have it in My Cart @ Audiodeluxe. I've downloaded the plug-in and a couple of YouTube videos on it. I'm just now waiting for a demo license. And here are the converted presets. Hmmm, I wonder, do you think I'll purchase it?

Your are correct, the way both McDSP and the vendor inform about the Windows issue in their site, is absolutely incomprehensible.

I contacted both the McDSP support and the dealer.

Both prentended first suprised. The vendor did not know about the deficiency, although they have sold McDSP for ages. It took some time, before I got a reply from the McDSP support: their response was the following:
"Unfortunately, there are no VST[2] presets, only VST3, Audio Units and AAX. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
We are not misleading anyone. It is on the support FAQ page:
http://mcdsp.com/support_faq/
Regards,
McDSP Support"

I.e. there are no information of this in the tech specs of the plugin, the potential buyer is supposed to visit first the developer site FAQ, and understand to read the above.
There are no information in the vendor site, that you can´t define the plugin installation path in Windows, nor that there are no support for the VST2 plugin presets.

If the above deficiency concerns all the McDSP product, e.g. the 6050 channel strip, I can´t say. Perhaps someone has experience of this.

I know, that the McDSP has a long history of the respected developer. Therefore, the first acquaintance with the company, has been quite a disappointment to me.

Yeah they are a pain, no doubt... I like their plugins though, no one could fault anyone
for not putting up with it certainly. :)

I've had the RE equivalent of the 6050 UCS for some time and am quite fond of it.
Been wanting the VST for a while but have been unwilling to spend upwards of
$200 for it. For $42 though, yes...

@Aloysius,

FYI: I don't believe they will send a demo code, just install the plugin and activate the trial.

-Cheers

Was excited about this until I realised it requires a dongle :-(

Demo activated. You're Presets are working a treat.

You're making this far too easy. Resistance is futile.

Ordered. Two minutes later I received my full Activation Code. :) Bargain imho.

And only one activation for that. No go for me.

I see the McDSP pro/cons per se discussed already
so it really comes down to an individual choice on potential purchases.

The 6050 sale:
let`s pretend for a moment the 6050 is at least a cpu efficient bread & butter tool,
the selling point to me is the option to step through modules like comps and eqs at equal stage.
A pretty convenient time saver on mixing and maybe sometimes good for unexpected emergencies.

Here`s an illustrating vid of that specific feature:

It`s my Easter egg for this year and fortunately endowed with zero calories.

No doubt the McDSP 6050 is a good sounding channel strip, with versatile compressor/Eq options.
But how much does it really bring new for those who already own, lets say 4-12 quality compressors and the same amount of Eq:s, a couple of gates and a bunch of preamps and saturation plugins?
And in addition to that maybe some console emulations, such as TG12345, Scheps 73, SSL E and NLS.

Well, the patent reply, for Kvr people, is of course, that you can´t have too many options.

It seems that the McDSP is pushing out their sofware during this spring about -80 %.

Hurry up and get it before the sale is over. :tu:

I gotta thank pekbro again for the converted FutzBox presets. I was pissed off with McDSP but think I'll have much more fun with that Plug-in now. :tu:

That is what it comes down to: more options. I find each company has their own "take" and sound imparted on their family of plugins. 6050 for $42 is pretty awesome. I paid $140 and feel that was a good price. Unlike Sl*te, I find McDSP's take on this appraoch more interesting and with a wider palette of character, with the 6050.
