Sennheiser HD280 Pro, simply 'cos they have great ambient noise damping, and expressway sound walls don't!

Anyone tried those BOSE acoustic cancelling headphones - not necessarily for mixing but for general music use? They are supposed to almost completely eliminate background noise as well as having, acording to BOSE, first class sound quality.
Are they as good as they look on paper? - and are they worth that price tag?
BOSE QuietComfort 2 Headphones

Check the recording world by the sales desk near the sample CD and audio interface displays. Ask any of the guys working there, they will show you. It's a black plastic tower with lots of headphones hanging on it.

I have some Sony MDR7506's. They sound great and have taken TONS of abuse but haven't broken. I've had mine about 4-5 years now.

At Mars all our headphones were hooked up to a cd player, we had anti theft devices on those and mics, if you tried to remove them an alarm went off...guitar center sux.Magpie wrote:not stealing anything, indeed that's a shame to have to be ready to pay the price to get the chance to listen headphones.VitaminD wrote:not trying to steal this thread.. but I was wondering is it normal for music stores NOT to have sample pairs of headphones to trial before buying?
I use Beyer Dynamic dt77os and Sony 7506's

Sennheiser HD414 reissue. I picked them up in a damaged box from the swapmeet for $20. I love a good bargain!
I had to buy a replacement cable about 6 years later and that cost me $30. For tracking vocalists I bought some closed Behringers. I guess they do the job for tracking.

colored, unfortunately even though bose is excellent most bose stuff does color the sound quite a bit.aMUSEd wrote:Which is....?nuffink wrote:They're bose.
