according to the release notes of the 1.06 firmware you can solve this with the use of the deadtime parameter.

- go to global edit. (press edit & store)
- Adjust the latency with the encoder 7 to your liking
- now you don't have to fight anymore with your automation.

Hi,

I am trying to control the VST 5.2 audio mixer using a midi device (Behringer endless rotary). I use OS 9.2 and VST 5.2 and OMS 2.3.8.
I've managed to control the audio faders with the Behringer (i.e. when I move a rotary the fader moves)..works ok *but* I've problems the other way round (yes I've connected it both ways and defined a two way connection in OMS): moving the fader with the mouse does not output any midi data (as can be seen on the activity LEDS near the transport in Cubase), so of course the Behr. does not react. The thing is: moving a fader on the MIDI mixer *does* put out midi data, but that's not what I want. My question is: how (where) do I tell Cubase to put out midi data from the Audio mixer faders (and transport buttons, by the way) *instead* of the Midi mixer?

Thanks for that but, narh... This doesn't quite work because when I write a continuous automation in Logic (i.e. constant fader movement), then when I do either "latch" or "touch" over the same area again, the automation data automatically over-rules the "deadtime parameter" because automation values are sent to the BCF all the time, even if I set it down to 0ms latency... It works, however, when the automation doesn't change... But this isn't a problem anyhow, just enable "write" and all is cool!!!

Hi there,

I am running Logic v5.51 Platinum on PC with the BCF in emulation mode and with the BCFview on top... It works really really well!!! Everything that the Logic control can display on its LCD screen is displayed in the BCFView emulation... With the LCD screen I can select tracks/insert effects/send busses/insert virtual instruments and control all parameters in all the inserted effects and instruments... this stuff is awesome!!! There's not much need for me to use my mouse anymore and work flow has increased tremendously without me having to click between screens to insert/modify parameters etc!!!

Hmm, sounds great slowdude...but where is the version for the BCR? I want, I want.

While I'm about it the B-Control edit hasn't surfaced yet either!!

Hi there,

I am on Logic so I use the Logic emulation, but I presume the Mackie control will work the same way too...

Within Logic you have a lot of VSTi like the EVP88, EXS24 etc... Whenever I select the "Instr" setting on the BCF, I can scroll through all the VSTi available and select it by pushing the rotary encoder... After that, all the automatable parameter of the VSTi is displayed on the BCFview... Lets say a particular VSTi only has 8 automatable parameters, then its displayed across the BCFview's 8 channels and is controllable via faders/encoders 1-8... If there are more than 8 parameters, then its spread out over "pages" and you can scroll through each page by using the page up/page down button to scroll through all parameters... To go back to controlling the mixer, switch back to "track" view and you are there... To switch back to the VSTi parameters, just select the "instr" screen and you are there again...

Not all VSTi will have automatable parameters though... For now, all of Logic's in-built VSTi I can automate... I also have FXPansion BFD drum module and I can control everything on that screen... Spectrasonics Stylus and Atmosphere's parameters doesn't show up though, so can't automate anything there... But can still send midi cc messages, just a little more trouble some...

i've been following your posts, and as i've just got my bcf-2000, i've been exploring the web for presets/ sysexs etc, and ive just found this site:

Could someone tell me how big the BCF2000 is. I read the dimensions, but the stores are not carrying it yet, so I can't really get a good idea of whether I can fit one in on my recording desk. A picture would be nice
