of course im not using fruity but a different host that doesnt have PDC. However, its all the same to me.. I hope PDC *does* become the buzzword and thus *does* become implemented upon the range of popular hosts.. (mainly the one I use)
Does FLStudio have PDC?

yeah the mixpressor does give off some serious delay.. couple that with a a mixtreble and a curveEQ and the tracks using them as inserts end up going wayy out of sync.. kind of annoying to have to insert a bunch of sampleslides or the curveEQ's latency plugin thingy into all of the other busses or tracks..

just think a little more than 30 sec about latency compensation, and you'll realize:
-it can become a nightmare because of mixer track routing and sends
-in some cases, it can even be logically impossible (especially with sends)

Indeed.. but that's your problem.gol wrote:just think a little more than 30 sec about latency compensation, and you'll realize:

Umm, so Magix, Steinberg, Emagic and Digidesign are magicians?-in some cases, it can even be logically impossible (especially with sends)
Cheers!

PS. Seriously, for me it's enough if you just make that damn MASTER channel have PDC. Then I didn't have to trim my loops in external audio editors before using them!

what I'm getting from this is..
-it would be a lot of work to implement that I dont really want to bother with
-in some cases, I might not even have an idea on how to implement it
am I close?

FL has a very flexible mixer routing system and there is indeed a logical problem implementing PDC.
If you'd like to have an excersize in logic - simply posed problem is:
In FL you can route one buss into another buss, while having both of them using same send.
Delay that.

you mean delay that in the same way cubase sx 2 manages itMirabebe wrote:FL has a very flexible mixer routing system and there is indeed a logical problem implementing PDC.

Let's have a taste of reality here for a second - Cubase is:
- alot older since inception
- developed by alot more people
- costs heck of alot more
- was just released with full PDC after so-so half-way implementation in a previous version?
... could all of this maybe account for the fact that FL may not have PDC implemented yet?
In turn FL has quiet a few things not existing in Cubase, so let's be fair Ok?
What i said for Cubase - still applies to Sequoia, with the "price" bit amplified 3x times. Another thing about Sequoia - is it a realtime composition environment? Don't you think that post-production doesn't exactly place the same importance on latency?
FL has alot more common with Live (does that have PDC?) in that respect, since both are meant for realtime composition to some degree.
Tracktion - does it have sends? Not natively as far as i am aware. The "Senderella" that i know exists - does it offer built-in PDC?
Sonar - i remember that there was quiet alot of whining and moaning about the "gaps" in audio directly attributed to PDC. It requires the gaps when PDC is recalculated. Doesn't that kind of point out that PDC is not exactly the most polished technology even amoung the "big-ones" ?
But just so that i am sure - does SX allow you to create a group-buss and then route it to the same send as the component busses at the same time? And most importantly (if it does allow that) - does PDC actually and verifyable works in this case? Please verify before you say that it does - because it doesn't take alot to talk shiot on forums, but it's another subject to actually stand behind your words (right Xander?).
