It works with Linux and the firmware is open-source, so it complements my ethics very well. Everything else about it is just a nice bonus.

The plastic fabrication company responded, but they were ambiguous as to whether or not they were willing to take the job, so I provided them more information about the project. While I am waiting for a response from them, I will research/contact more companies so that I can still forge a pathway for progress.
