Sorry, to clarify - Charleston, SC. Very pretty city with a lot of history, but right next door to North Charleston, a poverty and crime-ridden city that most tourists learn to avoid.

My midi cables are a mix of cables built by me and ready-made cables.
When it comes to midi, I usually look for the cheapest cable with a decent build quality. I may spend a little more for coloured cables or angled cables/connectors (those are more expensive) but, as long as it's a decent midi cable, anything goes.

I still use those I soldered more than 20 years ago. One Midi plug combined with a female XLR, the other combined with a male XLR to run Midi through a multicore...
