Listening back to some stuff I have used this in over the weekend has reinforced to me how good it sounds. Ditto for BM Eden, Ujam do make some seriously handy tools.

I ended up liking this quite a bit. You can quickly get a great sounding beat going using the preset patterns and macro controls. That's handy when you want to focus on other elements of the track or for jamming and improvising. You can also use it as a traditional drum machine, triggering the included 1-shot samples via MIDI to program your own patterns, or you can drag and drop the preset patterns and edit the MIDI. You can also split the outputs for additional processing of the audio. So it's pretty useful and fully featured in spite of the gimmicky interface.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

The interface works in the context of their other products. You learn one and you can use 'em all - drums, bass and guitar. What I've found is that I have songs that only use the preset patterns and kits, some that use one or the other and some that use neither. It's great because if its working, you don't have to fuss over it and if it isn't, you only need to intervene as far as you do. It also loads up in about a tenth of the time it takes Battery, which is really important for us on stage.

Sorry for the necro thread, but I just got Vice as a freebie with a different purchase from Plugin Boutique and…. holy f$#&, why did I never know about these Beatmaker plugins?! This thing sounds great and is way deeper than I thought it would be. I see PB has the complete bundle for $88, so I may just have to add that to my BF list.
Question for people who own these: I understand that you can swap out instruments within each plugin with the same type of sounds from another kit, but can you also swap sounds between plugins? I assume no, but that would be nice bonus if you can.

No, you can't. It's not much of a problem, though, there is plenty in each one. To be honest, I think Vice is easily the best of them.

Yep, UJAM have some (many) great plugins. I think some folks assume that they are 'toys' due to them having fast and useful presets but there is plenty of depth to use them as you wish. Well worth checking out.

I bought the entire bundle last night and spent some time going through each of them. Vice is probably my favorite, but there are several gems in there and I can see many of them being useful well outside their intended genres.BONES wrote: Thu Nov 21, 2024 7:01 am No, you can't. I have Vice, Eden, Void, Nemesis, Berserk, Hustle2 and Dope. I've never used the latter two but the rest all get regular use. The problem I have with them is that Berserk, in particular, causes Studio One to crash quite a bit. We've decided to move away from them for a while, although we'll keep using their Virtual Guitars and Striiiings.
