It’s a bit weird that this is literally the only path where they do not discount. I suppose they’re trying to ‘nudge’ users to the suite though with the discount on that.
Indeed.
They have in the past. that is what finally moved me from R3 to R8 (even though back then I hardly send Reason anymore)
rsp
Yeah, last time I bought it was some weird half price upgrade on Amazon. If i upgrade Mac OS to the latest I’ll lose it entirely but I’m not really killing myself over it quite yet... too much other stuff to waste time on but it was just weird they never really do formal discounts any more.

It usually sells for $129, I think I bought it for $99.

I wasn't making any such claim, not sure exactly what the numbers are, to be honest, and I don't speak for anyone but myself; but I would be very highly surprised if 4k monitor users were in the majority overall. However I made the choice for 1080p over 4k when I can easily afford a 4k monitor if I wanted one. If you think that choice is not formed by logic then I'm happy to have a discussion about that any time you like.

But it's not just '4K'. It's any screen with high enough resoultion AND small size that you need to use Windows scaling to have GUI elements be of comfortable size. So for example all Surface devices, many small(er) 1440p screens, etc.

Just set Windows to 125% scaling and fire up Reason on your 1080p screen to see what we're talking about :)

I don't get any of that - never had any issues with Reason's GUI on three different machines… right now I am on a 15.6 laptop with a (recommened) 1920x1080 resolution and Windows set to the recommended 125%. Now if I change the Resolution to 100%, Reason starts to look tiny, but the same would basically go for most everything else too, so I would have to start to resize things in order to make them big enough to be comfortable to use, so what would be the point of that?

If I have everything set up as recommended/supposed to, there are no issues at all. So I tend to blame the user.

How bad is your eyesight? What glasses you wear? Because I can't belive you don't see a difference in clarity between those pictures:

I'm on a 1080p 15'' laptop as well and Reason at 125% scaling is unusable. It's much better when I force my laptop's resolution to 1600x900. Try it, if you're only using Reason.

You can't use it to go from regular reason to regular reason 11.

I see. So, can I confirm, because to me, this wording is a little sketchy. .

Code: Select all

Product details

Buy this upgrade is you own any of the following products:

    Reason Intro
    Reason Lite
    Reason Essentials
    Reason Adapted

Note: Owners of Reason 1-10 full version should get the Reason 11 Upgrade.
https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/prod ... introlite/

The above means, if you have any version of Reason Intro/Lite/Essentials...(1 thru 10) you can purchase this to upgrade to Reason 11.x Standard? right?

The above URL is the same product as this?

https://www.jrrshop.com/propellerhead-r ... intro-lite

If you want to then go to Ultimate, you can also purchase this?

https://www.jrrshop.com/propellerhead-r ... te-upgrade

So total cost to upgrade to ultimate from Intro/Lite is $199 + $199?

(Sorry, there are just way too many conflicting $ figures floating around on the pages ).

No. Once you add them to the JRR Shop basket and type in code 'forum', the total will be $354.22 :)

Thanks. But just to confirm, this is the correct products to get if you are using Reason lite and want to move to 11.x?

Sorry haven't read all the posts. Are you moving from Reason Lite to Reason Full/Studio (the regular one)?

https://www.audiodeluxe.com/products/da ... -introlite
or
https://www.jrrshop.com/propellerhead-r ... intro-lite

if you are moving from Lite to Reason Suite (the Deluxe version that is more stuff than Reason Full/Studio)

Then indeed it seems like a two step thing.... as above in my post which gives you Reason Studio, then upgrade that to Suite.

Yes, that's the correct path AFAIK to get from pre-11 Lite to 11 Suite.

I am thinking about it. flipping back and forth. I tried out the lite version and it seems neat. i don't realy need another DAW but the idea of using the plugns and RACK in another DAW seems useful.

i note the sale on Propeller Head site says May 31 the sales goes on until. So have time to decide

Indeed enough time.
For me Suite doesn't make sense. I use another DAW and Reason won't be close to my main source of generating sound, so Full/Studio is the upgrade for me, at some point.
I use to use Reason a lot more up to R3 and then for years wished it came as a plugin which came at Reason 11. OF course by then i had moved on to many other sound generating tools, but would be nice to have access to some of Reasons stuff but me personally dont' need all.

But you know, you can do it in two steps without it costing more.

Try the Full/Studio one and if you still need more stuff then upgrade to the Suite.
