I enjoy this one, but just wish it had a speed knob because there are times I wish I could make it a little slower. This is not the type of transient designer to change the character of a synth or a piano part. It will do something, but without timing controls it goes only so far.Jorgeelalto wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2020 11:27 am I use Audio Assault Multi Transient, and it works great. I don't use many transient designers so I don't have many references, but when I need a transient adjusted, this is the one I use. Four bands, too, which is nice.

You are right, I should say I only use transient shapers on drums. Maybe I should try them on other things...jochicago wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2020 11:12 pmI enjoy this one, but just wish it had a speed knob because there are times I wish I could make it a little slower. I can't say I've tried "everything", but I've demoed and discarded plenty, on all price ranges.
Nothing came close to the precision, consistency and tweakability of the melda MTransientMB.
Sometimes it might even sound "too precise", and that's when I would use good old Trans-X from Waves.
But that's just my personal experience, for what it's worth.

Kilohearts transienter looks interesting by his lightweight, but as i see on picture it not have listen (monitoring) of processed signal (or i'm wrong ?), what imo one of most useful features in such kind of devices.
Sonnox Envolution - yes, has.
Spiff too.

I haven't tried Couture yet, but have read only very good things about it. Panagement, from the same dev, is wonderful.

yes, but I have found a slight caveat: 14ms.
yikes! of course it's all relative, the one in Sonar had 200ms, and indeed a shaper can only benefit from as much lookahead as it can get.

For a transient shaper 14 ms is top notch. It can’t be shorter... Think about how to achieve the desired result. You will not get enough information about the signal in a shorter time. I actually would prefer more latency...

I've done a few shoot-outs, and NI Transient Master usually wins. Nvelope very good, Waves generally trails. Your material/goals may vary.
For the ultimate in flexibility there is the Hornet Autogain Pro plugin; you can build a transient designer by having the level and target detectors both work on the input with different RMS windows.

Couture is pretty magical. You need to try Beatformer. There's some serious voodoo in that thing.acYm wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 5:25 am hmm looks like I've been sleeping on Couture, now that is one sexy and good interface... also highly rated and just 20 bucks? my softube TS might get a new companion...

Beatformer does look like a cool strip, the interactive demo directly on the webpage was neat, it sounds quite similar to what I often have on my drum bus with Loc-ness followed by Unharsh (with the TS on solo channels).

Is that EndeavorFX Unharsh? I've been meaning to demo that ugly thing. Demo'd Flawed Filters recently and really liked it. I like EndeavorFX in that they do pretty simple plugins but always something a little different and unique.acYm wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 4:31 am Beatformer does look like a cool strip, the interactive demo directly on the webpage was neat, it sounds quite similar to what I often have on my drum bus with Loc-ness followed by Unharsh (with the TS on solo channels).

ugly?! you're nuts, this vst has some of the finest faux-wood in recent years, looks good next to heavyweight faux-wood panels like sdrr desk.
wooden end-plates on the Couture wouldn't have been a bad idea...

Transpire - it's free and better than anything else I've tried.
