Hopefully the developer comes back to the thread.

I use a scripter for that purpose in Logic/Mainstage. But then you have to load all instances by hand...
And now with the instrument selector in free flow mode in Bitwig I setup MPEified vsts pretty fast.
I always thought to implement this my self and use it to learn Juce, but never did jump in. Looks pretty good, but seems expensive even with the introductory price...

Scanning all plugins in advance is a deal breaker! Its absolutely useless and always causes problems. Why not scan a single plugin when its loaded first time and write the result into the same database the scanning does now? I don't get this. Even big companies do that bullshit...Noumena wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2020 11:30 pm I’m on OSX. I have about 250 plugins. It progresses a little further each time I scan. I’m at 70% with 10-20 tries.

Will have to test this app, it's great if will close seamlessly the gap between MPE midi players and vstis. In fact, the best thing would be the existence of dedicated presets for pairs of Midi Player <-> vst Instrument(by the dev or community), because even for MPE supporting vstis, the setup needs to specific for each type of midi player.

Hello everyone,
I appreciate all your honest feedback, it's helpful, thank you for that!
I understand that the crash during plug-in scanning is a game breaker. It's annoying to restart the application when a crash happend during scan, I will work on this. As a workaround, as Noumena mentioned, just restart the application and scan again to continue the scanning process.
Of course, the UI should show up in good size on your screen. I will work on a way to resize the plugin and make the default size bigger. Thank you for reporting this!
The rise/fall smoothing is an interesting idea, I noted that down.
I have also noted down the request for presets for specific VST's. I'm curious which synths you would like to make me presets for. The concept of MPEfy is that synths without MPE support that might never have MPE support are now available for your MPE device. Let me know which VST synths come to your mind when knowing that presets might come available for it.
The VST fx request is also noted down.
Hopefully this answers most of your questions.
Again, thank you all!
Jelle

Can you make it so that it isn't opened as a separate application window in windows when the plugin is opened? It completely removes all focus from the DAW while it's open.

Hi everyone,
I've been working on an update for MPEfy that includes some of your helpful feedback.
Version 0.1.6 can be downloaded via www.jb-audio.com
The biggest change is that the internal plug-in scanner doesn't crash anymore. It might have crashed because corrupted or broken local VST's or Audio Units, but those shouldn't stop the scan progress anymore.
Also it includes a solution that allows scaling the main window to support different screen resolutions.
And a few other thing...
Thank you all for supporting MPEfy!

Does it still open a separate application window rather than just being a plugin window within the DAW? I find that a bit of a dealbreaker personally due to the focus issus mentioned.

I am aware of the focus issue, I haven't solved that yet. Thanks for providing feedback.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Sep 14, 2020 10:29 pm Does it still open a separate application window rather than just being a plugin window within the DAW?
