I don't think it is really a regret as such, but after playing in garage/new wave/punk/industrial/etc bands all through my teens and into my early 20's and actually getting at the least pretty decent at it, once I got serious about art at college I walked away from music cold turkey and concentrated on art and then teaching until just a couple years ago when I happened to just see a Computer Music magazine Freeware special issue at the bookstore. Was aware peripherally of software, etc in music, mostly from just reading interviews with bands, but now saw what was out there and what you could do with it in your own home studio. Got hooked again quickly because of that issue.

Now----- holy cow. I feel like a caveman against Terminators with the way technology moved on and what I have to catch up with, and what I don't know. All the "old" software people talk about here is still new to me, lol.....Learning 20-25 years or more of computer/DAW/soft synths/etc all at same time......pretty much have accepted what I don't know, and just dove back in and try to make some stuff interesting to me. I approach it with no pressure, and basically like a kid trying to play with something and have fun. My younger self was much more precise and agonized over things. Now, not so much. But it is surprising how much you actually do remember and how it may have been waiting there all those years to be activated.
