Damn dude....you have my sympathies...that really fuckin sux hard.ttoz wrote:Of course. It's just the way it is at the end of the day. companies don't care. and we waste out energy ranting and raving and no matter what, it's not gonna change anything. nothing was more ufair than what emapple did, really. people that had spent over a grand got the same dela that people as people that had spent $100.... these are the sx2 upgrade prices. make as much hullaballo as you want. I bet nothing changes. unfortunately.
It's no wonder I gave up after SX 1 and decided Sonar was the way to go!!!:PRaven wrote:I paid £99 to upgrade from SX 1 to SX 2 and now it's
another £99 to upgrade from SX 2 to SX 3 , that means
it would cost me £198 to get from SX 1 to SX 3![]()
but those that upgrade from SX 1 to SX 3 only pay £99 and get all the features I paid to beta test in
SX 2 for free![]()
I see this as another poke in the eye from Steinberg
to it's loyal vanguard customers![]()
I just don't see the logic when before they always
had different prices to upgrade from different versions .![]()
If they charged £49 to upgrade from SX 2 to SX 3
and passed the £50 on to those upgrading from SX 1
to SX 3 so they paid £149 , they would still get
all the features of the SX 2 upgrade for half the
price previous upgraders had to pay![]()
I am not sure now if I will upgrade @ the current price , if I wait 12 months for SX 4 I will get
the features of SX for free if Steinberg follow
through with the same upgrade pricing that they have
now
I thought that option was removed last month

I was one of those Customers using an old version (VST32 5.1) up until a week ago.moldofunker wrote:Customers using old versions are still users of cubase. No one it's saying that you must upgrade until the new version have the features that you find very useful for the money you pay.
My SX1 to SX2 upgrade arrived 11th July, and I haven't even got around to installing it yet.ttoz wrote:http://forum.cubase.net/forum/Forum27/HTML/000047.htmlEarthTones wrote:link please, for the retarded...ttoz wrote:it's after July 20th not April. at the steinberg announcements forum.
3rd paragraph down. and i boobood too, it's 15th july not 20th
Come to think of it, it would make sense if Steinberg charged more for the SX2 to SX3 upgrade than SX1 to SX3, because those customers are obviously more likely to actually shell out the cash. So really, as an SX1 customer I only want to pay US$49 to upgrade to SX3, whereas SX2 customers should pay US$149.
But, it's safe to assume Steinberg won't give me the materials I need to sell myself, so I'll wait for SX4 which will be the same upgrade price for me as it is for SX3 users. Steinberg encourages procrastination.
