I think it has already been mentioned that the GUI is a complete train wreck.
So are obviously the plugins with the big M in the name. But your position there was it is sO sUbJeCtIvE and nOt FaIr :D So again, if markers are the biggest problem...

I like them adding new stuff. But I still think adding all the stuff like snap-to-zero-crossing markers, ..., would still not make more people use it. Especially not those that are already complaining. It's the usual we-all-know-what's-better-for-them mentality.

Do you really want to compare the Melda Production plugins' GUI's with this? It's like day and night.

Although I don't know why you'd want to compare those, or which grudge you hold against me for voicing my opinion in regards of the Melda plugins' GUI's. Sorry if I hurt you in any way with that...

They probably should start with a decent GUI. Considering how long they've been with such a butt ugly, shitty GUI now, I don't have any expectations in that regard though.

But then, there are a lot of other audio editors people who don't like the GUI can use. Even free ones, with a much better GUI than Audacity ever will have.

Hypocrisy. That's all. You like to strongly show your opinions and "facts", but only if they suit you. That's all I'm happy pointing out. And once you got caught, it's all about trolling. Got you

Well, thanks for pointing that out then. But how is that relevant to this discussion? It rather appears to me as if you get personally insulted when someone says something bad about your software. Which makes you... what exactly? Kind of immature, if you ask me. Especially when you need to reach for topics which have absolutely zero to do with it. Which don't even belong to this forum, but happened in a vendor's forum. WTH really.

Yeah, the GUI... Drop-down lists of that type are never a good idea! They don't look remotely like they are part of a quality program. Still, it's free so I suppose I don't have the right to complain.

Not even sure what you are trying to say. No software is "mine".

*looks at the Steinberg CP topic*, *looks at the confirmed trolling behavior*, yeah the immature one is me for sure. Anyways q.e.d again. And I don't see a reason to go more offtopic. Happy to point out more if there's a need for it in other topics 8)

For those with more insights in the topic: is there an actual changelog available? The wiki entry only says "Now using aup3 unitary project file format. Over 160 bugs fixed." but that's not that informative.

Oh, more pointing to totally unrelated topics for personal lowblows. Who would have thought?

I highly doubt it. But, hey, surprise me.

Considering FOSS always had the aspiration to be a valid alternative to even expensive payware, I think you have every right to complain. :)

I'll always have a place for Audacity. I don't know of many audio editors that will open ANY file as audio. There was a DFX contest years ago to take their website code and open it as audio for sounds in a song.

that's the thing!
it has these bits that the majority, probably don't see any use in.
but for some of us, it's the only thing free or otherwise that does some things.
even basic audio files, it opens and will save as, things my "sexy looking hosts" stop supporting years ago, and i need those, for certain hardware samplers.

allows me to do things the sexier ones won't allow me to do.
i refer people to my earlier point :hihi:

I admittedly have a soft spot for weird, obscure or underdog things in general. My other audio editor is DSP Quattro, and my main DAW is Digital Performer. There are one or two bad things in Logic, and I hate that with a passion, the half dozen shortcomings in DP I'm willing to forgive. :hihi:

That said to yours and my points, the underdogs always have a few tricks the others don't do. All of this made me realize I have a really old version of Audacity on my system. :)

Why on earth would anyone use audacity ( on p.c) while there is the excellent wavosaur ?
Eyeball exchanging
Soul calibrating ..frequencies
