I'll play with my iPad here and there or while traveling. I bring my laptop rig if I'm going anywhere for any length of time. You never know when a last minute job will pop up. Also I like to be able to start ideas when I have them. Taking notes doesn't really help.

I don't find any Special thing if I work out in the world. Or climb a mountain and then make music there. If I have serious work I do it on my serious system.

Yeah, I'm very much like that. I need a laptop to perform "live" (yes, I see the irony) and I want one I can interact with without looking like I am using a computer on stage, so something with a touchscreen is definitely an advantage. I get noting from being in a certain place, inspiration is just as likely to arise from sitting in the office as it is sitting on the beach.

When I travel these days, I usually pack my Uno Synth and I always have my laptop or tablet with me. Uno is definitely my favourite toy but I can't imagine what sort of wanker I'd look like if I dragged out my little Lenovo tablet and hooked the Uno up to it while I waited for my extra-hot double-shot decaf almond milk latte. It's the kind of thing one should definitely do in the privacy of their hotel room.
