IGD aka: Infectious Garage Disease
Shock rock thrash band from the late 80's and early 90's. Sacramento area.
If anyone knows where I could find a copy of their original record I will pay $50-100 for a copy. I lost my tape sometime ago and I'm afraid I'll never be able to find a replacement.
This band single handedly shaped a large part of my music style.

Oh that's lovely stuff... I think someone else here was raving at me to listen to them a while back. Griels, or Marco, or maybe Tris... or maybe you.donkey tugger wrote:The Clientele, top quality jangly pop!

Oh, and Donks, you really should check out Archers of Loaf... you'll love 'em, I'm sure.
I made a couple of samples since I couldn't find any on the net... they're cut to 1:30 and ogg format, to avoid future appearances on kazaa...

I'll second Tuxedomoon and Brainticket. Also, The Virgin Prunes were notorious in their day, but are hardly spoken of now. Still one of my favorite bands of all time.
There was a great band Colin Newman produced called Minimal Compact. What a wonderful noise they made.
I still find a lot to like about Play Dead. A hard working band from the "Goth" days, though they were more "rock" than a lot of the contemporaries.
There are a couple of albums and singles from Royal Family and the Poor that are simply outstanding.
Aw, what the hell am I doing? Most people never heard of three-quarters of my record colelction...

Full Fathom Five. (website hasn't been updated in a while)
They used to be my favourite band when I lived in Brisbane.
*sigh*
Those were the days. They really were.

seen em a couple of times... the eeeemo scene is about all we got around here for a few years. I'll take the previously-mentioned Dismemberment Plan or Braid over 'em in a heartbeat.
And best yet, they just reunited!

You have a shoelace from Damon! You rock!Robert Randolph wrote: Badmouth promise ring again and all hell will break loose.
In the small world category, my younger brother's terrific band Aloha (who are also criminally unknown and enormously talented) has played quite a few shows with Braid and Promise Ring over the years... every see em?

Yep. Ive done quite a bit of work with polyvinyl.garret wrote:You have a shoelace from Damon! I was just kidding about Promise Ring, they're terrific, they just never won me over completely like Braid.

Aloha! That's awesome that they were mentioned - I actually contacted the drummer from this band to work on a percussion project that ended up being pushed off.
But he was awesome and the demos he sent me made me VERY interested in the whole band.

yeah he's pretty unkown around here, some guitar players know him. I have listen/watched musicchoice, for several years now...never seen him on there. I saw the Greg Lake song he did and in artists facts they mentioned his name...but never a solo piece ever. But then I got most of the cds so...Plus I saw the We Want Moore tour.....or were saying I was hardly uknown?progfusion74 wrote:hink wrote:Gary Moore, Gary Moore, Gary Moore, Gary Moore, Gary Moore. Hardly unknown I would say
