Cool! Great you found a good surface solution.
That also makes me aware of how lucky I was with that old netbook-cover material that somehow fit like a glove as the Seaboard surface.
Cheers!
Tom

Hey thanks for pointing out this thread! Figured I should chat about it here.
First off since I'm not going to randomly find a notebook cover, they do sell 16" x 32" mouse pads that seem to have all the required features. I'm guessing the rubber on the backside would be enough to make for smooth transitions?
Also a request, is there any way you would give out your specs for the 3D-printed frame for the upper outer corners?

Well, you have to make sure the mouse pad isn't too stiff at the backside. The piece I used was rather soft front and back.
If the back is too stiff, you may trigger too large an area.
I can send you the STL for the upper part if you want. Just have to find it in my backups.
Cheers,
Tom

Here you go - make sure it fits yours, not sure if they changed things through versions.
In the end I fixed it with tiny drops of superglue...
Holds well for years now.

Nice, I'm definitely doing this mod! I'm a big fan of the Linnstrument. I love the long throw on the Block for string sounds, but the rubber bunches up.ThomasHelzle wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 12:33 am Here you go - make sure it fits yours, not sure if they changed things through versions.

I think the soft cheaper rubbery mouse pads in the larger sizes would work well.

Worth a try, but it's a rather sensitive balance between too soft where the material doesn't bridge the sensors enough and too stiff, where you may trigger several at once.
But it's easy enough to change and try several materials. I used very thin double sided adhesive tape to fix the neoprene on the surface.
I can slide with full AT now and pitchbending over a longer distance works everywhere.
It also became more sensitive overall.
I'm not bothered by the missing keywaves, they annoyed me more than they helped. I use it mostly for slow sounds where I slide and pitch around a lot.
