Anyone knows happened with the original developer?
Looks like there was an exclusive distribution deal made with SONiVOX for all current and future Way Out Ware products.

But where is KikAXXE? I want it for 9.99 or better as free monthly gift @ PB…

I think SONiVOX itself must be on basic life support by now, the only thing that's keeping it from descending further into the "abandonware" category...

Based on the fact that the latest "news" posting on their main website was in January 2019 (over 3 years ago).

Yep, doesn't look promising! And now I can't even use TimewARP 2600 on my Big Sur Intel iMac anymore - hard crash changing presets. Oh well, a bit of a bummer since, like I stated when I started this thread, it has a certain complex character that Arturia and Cherry Audio don't have to my ears.

Is Timewarp 2600 worth Au$50? because that's what AIR are selling it for at the moment. I don't care about the GUI or stability, I'm only interested in the sound, but they don't have a trial version.

So, I own TimeWarp (and KikAXXE) does that give me the rights to use the new Windows version?

It’s an outstanding synth soundwise, but it’s very pitty that it’s out of development, there are so many bugs that I don’t use it very often. Would be very happy about an v2 - but i think way out Ware is out of development and sonivox you can smoke in the pipe

Yep, such a bummer TimewARP isn't being developed any longer. I still think it was a magically hardware-sounding synth. It's unruly and quirky in a way I haven't experienced in other soft synths. I really wish someone would create a great 2600.

I don't think so. From memory although it sounded generally more like hardware back in the day than for example the Arturia offering, that was back in the day. Also it was buggy, I remember it had the software equivalent of "stuck keys".

The Odyssey Instrument that comes with the MPC is by wayoutware & fairly recent, so it looks like the developer is still developing for them or at least reworking the code.

The ARP Odyssey instrument that comes with the KORG collection is very nice! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARP_Odyssey

I will also add that I have a license for the TimewARP 2600, but have uninstalled it due to it's end-of-life status and some needed bug fixes and need for a resizable UI. It sounds great when it works... but it's so hard to see on a HD screen...

If I have a desire to get into some 2600 now, I prefer CA2600. I also have the Arturia ARP 2600 V, but I prefer the Cherry version. Cherry also offers some modules for their Voltage Modular based on the ARP 2500 synth, a predecessor to the 2600, in the VM2500 collection: https://cherryaudio.com/news/cherry-aud ... collection

There is no good ARP2600, except of the timewarp soundwise.I hope that Arturia is doing a refresh for V Collection10.
I don’t hear the same code from way Out ware in Oddisey, nothing special and the korg and especially the gforce oddity are sounding worlds better.
So I don’t think there will be a timewarp2600v2 - but I hope that Arturia could nail it in V4
