Mmmh, haha ...

Just think about who your target audience is: Are they funky teenagers
who hang out in front of YouTube all day? Or is it musicians and music
producers?

If the latter are your target group: If they watched every Youtube video
posted here or any other video, then they would be doing nothing but
watching videos all day.

Do you see the contradiction?

The truly productive and efficient people who get things done in the
music world rely on being able to quickly capture and triage content
at a glance. And that is only possible with written text!

Yes. It’s unlikely that anyone would be interested in the entire scope that this could cover, hence the request to narrow it down a bit.
As for forum etiquette: Your written views about the semantics of written vs video mediums contradict the forum etiquette you advocate by wasting the audience's time that might be interested in the subject of this thread.
A hazard, to be sure; no sense in trashing a useful thread with extended off-topic arguments. I try to mitigate this risk by a) writing concisely; b) making such points where there is a reasonable chance of good-faith engagement; c) being more willing to make tangential points where the thread’s ostensible topic has little depth anyway (e.g. IK marketing.)

I was hoping this thread would be a b).

Well, it does seem to me that here, a forum where we get opinions on things like a sample player format all the time without cease would not be the most fertile ground for a Youtube channel kinda guy to mine likes and subs but saying nowt about it as an attractor.

I use Kontakt, for better or worse, and I am not a fan of Spitfire to the extent of caring about their engine. I have one thing in it, which didn't cost to add it, never opened it. After all, I have it in Kontakt. The things Orchestral Tools puts in SINE now like it's an upgrade from a mature product in Kontakt, well, I use the SINE engine quite a lot now, & I'm sure the interface is simply less powerful than, for the purpose.

Am I ready to see if I can monetize a Youtube channel now? ;)

Well, it is what it is.
My target audience is anyone that finds my opinions and information interesting and informative. That's why youtube allows one to move on to the next video if they find one video uninteresting.

Having gone through the forums rules, I can not see a clause forbidding youtube links in a thread.

But please, be my guest, go ahead and discuss some more. I am sure you can afford your valuable time expressing your ideas in this thread. It could even be therapeutic. You can thank me later. :tu: :)

I don’t see problem having YT links. But then again, it would be very nice to have an option to also READ your ideas/points of view since this is a text forum and not just YT video :D
I come here to read since this is text based forum :D

Agreed. I did my best coming up with a written version of the video overview so any interested parties can decide whether to proceed and click the play button or not.
Thanks.

Here are the ones I have worth discussing: emax hd, boss sp202, akai s20, akai s2000, akai mpc 2000xl, and the akai mpc live. The live is definitely the closest to a computer sound wise, but a little more difficult to use. The emax is probably the best sounding/easiest to use combined- but it’s a beast. The s20 is great for resampling sources to get them to have that “hardware sound” -like if something is too modern or clean sounding. The sp202 is the most fun to use. The s2000 and mpc2000xl are the best over all sounding- particularly the s2000. That’s the truth

With a video, you force the user to submit to your time dictation.
He must follow the words in time and order. He cannot fast-forward
without fearing that he has missed an important point. Videos force
your style directly on the user.
Wow. That's like, stop all the VSTs and DAWs and producing stuff and just release sheet music so you don't "force" composition, sound selection, arrangement and mixing on someone. YT also offers time-line navigation these days. No one is forcing anybody.

I enjoyed the video and the humor. Not agreeing on every aspect, but I see it rather as infotainment. A hybrid. And creating videos is seriously also an art. There needs to be a structure which sucks you into the content, no matter what the original premise is. If it doesn't work, people will skip. If people enjoy reading more, they probably won't spend that time dedicated to reading on YT. Filtering and responsibility for your OWN inputs in terms of media, knowledge, arts etc. And this is true for music as well. Your catchy hook comes in about 3 minutes of reversed cowbells fed into some crazy ensemble from Reaktor? Nice! Hopefully, someone will hear it.

Telling an artist/creator what method he should use is, simply, a bit bananas.

That's like, a total non-sequitur.

this guys videos are fantastic - his build from air one a gem, as is Breaking into Spitfire. Incredibly useful demystification. And he likes Kandel and Schwartz! Wish I had seen these years ago. Fancy being so petty as to get on here and complain about his videos. What a bunch of jerks

Stukas Audio wrote: Sun Mar 13, 2022 6:41 pm Thank you for the note. Although English is not my mother tongue, the title was an attempt to take the piss out of Christian Henson's titles. (i.e. The best, most, rarest, amazing ever sample in the world ever." etc). I, therefore, refrained from proper grammar use. But I do thank you for the note.
It's perfect. Anyone who watches Christian Henson's videos will get it and will love the video. I LOL'd.

The more sampling library promo videos you have watched, the funnier Stukas is.
Particularly the boys who comment on Spitfire videos and outdo each other for Henson's patronising approval.
I am embarrassed that I watched enough such videos to get the jokes

Ah. Yeah, I don't watch any of that. I'm not a fan of Spitfire's whole... aesthetic
