10.7.3 is a hanging midi notes hell for me on an m1 mac mini. This is the worst hanging note situation I've known in 15'ish years. Does it on any number of plugs, native or rosetta. I'm absolutely tempted to switch to pc and cubase at this point, logic just seems to be getting more and more unstable.

I kind of feel like Apple releases are getting worse and worse in-terms of stability. Not just Logic but macOS. 12.3 is a mess right now.
Studio One // Bitwig // Logic Pro // Ableton // Reason // FLStudio // MPC // Force // Maschine

Yep. 10.6.3 isn't that great either, I still get hanging notes but not to the same extent.m-ac wrote: Tue Mar 29, 2022 10:37 pm 10.7.3 is a hanging midi notes hell for me on an m1 mac mini. There's a forum where a group of users were contacting Apple about this, I'd have expected a fix to have arrived by now. Perhaps more people need to contact Apple.

This is very odd, 10.6.3 is behaving nearly as badly as 10.7.3.
I think that perhaps this relates to something to do with the options for core usage of the M1 chip. If you set Logic to automatically determine core usage it just uses the first 4. When I first got the M1 and Logic I was disappointed with performance until I realised that enabling all cores resulted in very good performance. Now it seems that some combination of OS and Logic changes are resulting in a conflict in core usage if one uses more than 4. If I set the core usage to 4 I get stable playback but limited performance which overloads easily. If I enable 6 or more I get weird stuttering which can be extreme or mild, seemingly at random. I'm actually close to giving up on Apple... but perhaps using more than four cores actually is antagonistic to the chip architecture and was never wise in the first place (in which case this machine is not good for a DAW)?
For those who have a 10 core model, how do you set Logic core usage?
Edit: I'm getting thread and core usage mixed up. I don't know what Logic is doing in terms of which cores are being used when 8 threads are enabled.
