What happened to Accusonus?

Hi - I just switched MACs and went to download the install files for ERA 5 and was surprised to see the news referenced here...I do have a valid activation...Does anyone know where I can get the ERA 5 install files or have the install files they would be willing to share with me?

OK - As I had them on my old computer, I set that one up and copied the files to an external drive, and I now have ERA 5. I know they released a free ERA 6 with VoiceChanger - I'd love to have that. Anyone have those install files?

I have Regroover installed on my PC. When I try to open it in Studio One I get a message, that there couldn't be a connection established to the Accusonus Server.
Does this mean it is impssible to use the software any longer since Accusonus is no longer existant?

Yes accusonus sold out its customers and shut down their activation/download servers.

This is why I only now buy products from established brands like NI or Arturia and avoid sketchy start ups like minimal audio.

You can download fully functional versions from certain corners of the internet that have the activation removed which would be fully legal in the case of a legitimate license owner.

No it wouldn't. You don't own the software, you own a license to use it. If the company ceases to exist and as such there are no servers to download from or today connect to, it is NOT fully legal to pirate the copy - ever.

There is a sentence by the EU court of justice that deemed legal to remove DRM reasonable if there is no other way to make software, acquired legally, work. The case was specifically about software that was no longer posible to activate because of C/R system.

This is a lesson for anyone that doesn't otherwise know: Software is temporary. All the software you are using now will become useless unless you maintain an old legacy system. Imagine all the software and associated effort from decades past that is now no longer is use. All those giant computer systems. It's all disposable. Just keep that in mind as you move forward.

I have the most recent mac installers if anyone wants them. No licenses, just the installers. PM me.
